    Hey Wintchase
I know what you mean...I feel I need to do the same on few of my blades too...the Respecto #77 certainly needs it every 3-4 shaves. It could be the metal type.

As with most addictions, the first step is WANTING to be cured. I fear you'll have no volunteers, that is unless the SWMBO's "volunteer" their man.

As for VC, might I suggest you contact, uhm, Gillette????

Yes, indeed it was Max who re-scaled the blade. Superlative workmanship as always.

    SOTD Friday August 6, 2010

Razor: 15/16 Geo Wostenholm & Sons, Celebrated I-XL Razor
Rockingham Works, Sheffield, England, Hollow Point Ca 1836
    Pre-Shave Cream: Proraso
    Soap/Mug: Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Scuttle: RAB Ceramic
    Brush: Medium Badger
    ASB: Nivea Replenishing
Aftershave/Cologne: British Sterling Cologne for Men

Great shave this morning with the Wostie Chopper and MWF. This was a special shave in many ways. I re-discovered a sometimes forgotten fact; razors are sharp! I was all lathered up and picked up the razor noticing I hadn't wiped the oil off the blade. (you can see this coming can't you?) I get some tissue and wipe the blade and ...slip..nasty feeling..I notice that the top of my index finger is pouring blood all over the counter. After cold water rinses and two bandages I finally get the bleeding stopped enough to not leak through the bandages so I can complete my shave. Two things we should never forget: (1) Drink all of your cup of coffee before shaving. (2) When you are in a small room with a sharp instrument, be aware of where it's at at all times! I hope you all had a little less exciting shave that mine this morning Gentlemen, enjoy!

Mitchell's Wool Fat Appreciation Day... Banks and Government Offices Closed!

    Cool Water splash
    Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Simpson's Ehsan
    Gebr. Weyersberg Corneta
Tony Miller strop 30 Linen/60 Leather
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Nivea AS Balm
    Spanish Floïd Suave

A cast of favorites to celebrate this momentus occasion! The Ehsan and Corneta have earned their places at or near the top of my favorites list. The Spanish Floïd is my current fave AS. The Fat?? There is no doubt! Many have read me gush about it before. If I had to pick one shave soap, my choice would be crystal clear.... I love this stuff!
Even Froggy dropped his jaw in amazement!
