Thumbs up Sun September 05th - Sat September 11th

    .
    Location: 36° 0'5"N - 115° 15' 21"W
    Razor: Rattler Cutlery Co.
    Brush: Simpson Polo 10
    Soap: Irisch Moos
    Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
    ASB: Nivea Extra Soothing
    EDT: Acca Kappa ~ Cedro
Results: This is one sweet German made razor. Combined with the refreshing scent of Irisch Moos, the excellent neutral scented ASB from Nivea and the ever so good smelling Cedro from Acca Kappa I got a 'you smell great darling... your skin feels so smooth...' from the wife. Even the dog was wiggling her tail. I'm happy.
Have a great Labor day WK and SOTD.

Yesterday my son moved to Erfurt, Thuringia.
I drove the truck. Because of the lot of furniture today my fingers are directly near the floor.
    That's why I need a "friendly" razor.

    soap: Muehle
    brush: Muehle
    razor: Wade & Butcher
    AS: Old Spice

    Have a nice sunday, gents!

Wow Max, what a razor! I really like it. I want one with a steam train etch.

    Hi Tom,
    1. Nice W&B buddy .
    2. Interesting choice of SciFi books. Have you read the other 11 in the "Ender's Game" series.

    3. Thuringia...is that were the highly prized Eschers and Thuringian stones come from?

I hope your fingers feel better.

Is that a Stanwell? I have one (not as nice as yours), and it is my favorite smoke.

Smile Week of September 5 - Sunday

Pre-Shave: Hot shower + Stephan's Conditioning Smooth Shave Creme
Razors: 13/16" Scheön Burg #775, Hollow, Spike point
    Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger
Überlather: CarrieM Lemongrass Shave Creme + TOBS Lavender Shave Soap + Glycerin
Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
    Post-shave: Trumper's Sandalwood Skin Food
    Facial Moisturizer: Trumper's Facial Moisturizer
    Cologne: Penhaligon English Fern
Result: Early start to the day...It's almost 5:00AM and I couldn't sleep so I decided to shave and get back to my grant writing. I love my new Scheön Burg (got it from a member on B&B). It's a super sharp razor, where the combination of design, etching/lettering, and form come seamlessly together to create a great "eye candy" for anyone's straight razor collection. The Überlather (led by CarrieM's Lemongrass creme) was super slick today)...Gotta love this stuff . The Scheön was effortlessly gliding over the skin underneath this thick cushiony white snow like an Olympian skiing over a "perfect" slope. This entire choreographed shaving ballet was one of the best "Zens" I have had so far...what a great way to get the creative juices flowing. This was a great start to a brand new SOTD week.

    Cool

Pre-shave: Cold water, lather, rubbed in for 3 minutes, more cold water.
Strop: Rup Razor, 10 on pasted side(Cx, .5 micron), 75 on leather
    Cream: C.O. Bigelow
    Scuttle: SRD
Brush: TGN custom Grade A Silvertip Badger
    Razor: Genco "Easy Aces"
After Shave: Cold water splash followed by hot water splash, C.O.Bigelow Menthol lotion
Result: Super Smooth and that satisfaction of a job well done (I love the first shave after honing a razor).

I spent late Saturday night and into Sunday morning cleaning & honing this Razor. It was an ebay find (some staining on the blade, but in good shape otherwise). It was very dull. After some polishing and some Barbicide, I set the bevel using 2 pieces of tape on a 1k Norton. I removed 1 piece of tape and moved to pyramids on the 4k/8k. I Finally finished on the 12k Naniwa, stropped on pase, then leather. The shave was amazing!

This was my first experiment with the "Cold Water" shave. I gotta say that in the summer months, this may be just the ticket. The cold water coupled with the C.O. Bigelow cream, & their Peppermint Oil lotion as an ASB, made my face feel like it was on ice for a good 45 minutes...amazing!

    Have a great Sunday Gentlemen!
