    Default SOTD 10-5-2010

    Prep: Hot shower
Strop: SRD Premium IV Bridle 25 webbing/50 leather
Brush: TGN custom silvertip in a cherry wood handle
    Scuttle: SRD
    Cream: C.O. Bigelow
    Razor: Boker "King Cutter"
    After Shave: C.O. Bigelow "Mentha"
Result: A very smooth, relaxing, focused shave today. I find my morning shaves are a mental break from the hectic day ahead. When I am finished I feel centered and ready to take on the day. The C.O. Bigelow cream provides a wonderful cooling sensation.

Have a fantastic day gentlemen, you deservie it!

Filarmonica Doble Temple 13 | Kanayama | Vulfix Silvertip | Ogallala Bay Rum + CarrieM Bay Rum + Glycerin
Thayers Lavender | CarrieM AS Milk | Le Labo Rose 31

I received this NOS Fili yesterday in the mail and immediately took her to the hones last night. I started on the Norton 4k and then 8k. I followed the Nortons with 20 laps on my mid-grade J Nat (unkown stone) with water only. I then went to the Nakayama Kiita Asagi where I raised a light slurry and began to slowly dilute the slurry after every 10 strokes until I was using just water. I then continued with water only until the stone was dry.

The result was a nice, smooth edge. I don't claim to be an expert, but I'm pleased with the edges I'm getting off my hones!

    Thanks friends!
    I repeat it:
Robert inspired me with his trip to Max in Vegas.
This year we visit again Florida, but I think next year it should be California, Arizona and Nevada.
We have a lot of friends in this region (e.g. my son's host-parents when he was in CA as an exchange student in 2001)

Post Week of October 3 SOTD - Tuesday

    Shave: Vegas Style #2

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Razor: 5/8" The Diamond, Extra Hollow Ground, Round Point
    Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger
Superlather: CarrieM's "Citrus & Sage" Shave Creme + Mama Bear's Trade Winds Shave Soap
    Moisturizer: Dr. Hauschka's Quince Creme
After Shave Splash: Ralph Lauren Safari
Result: Today was my second shave Las Vegas style with an incredible razor. "The Diamond" delivers all the goods I have come to expect from a great razor; A sharp and smooth edge!! And CarrieM's creme mixed with Mama Bear's soap delivers all the creamy goodness I have come to expect from my lather. Great, refreshing shave.

We had yet another wonderful time with Max, his wife (and their cute Doxin) last night...great Thai dinner and wonderful company. Tonight, we have tickets (great seats) to go see "Mystère" by Cirque du Soleil.

Have an wonderful Tuesday gentlemen .

I can't over your Filli score Bill . That is probably one of the best values you got out of this. Great score!!!

    Aura Glow
    Ingram Shave Cream
    Vulfix 660 Pure Badger
    Gebr. Weyersberg Corneta 078½
    SRD Premium I Strop .. 45 Linen/90 Leather
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Nivea AS Balm Sensitive
    Osage Rub AS

The Weyersberg Corneta has achieved "Most Favored Razor" status, and ranks up there with the big boys! As an added benefit, it's the only example of this model that I have ever come across..
The Ingram cream is nice, and I finished off the menthol experience with Osage Rub...

From the Woodstock Days.... Are You Experienced? ... Does anyone remember?
