    Default Tuesday morning

    Pre: Hot water lather
    Blade: Permasharp
    Brush: Bristle
    Soap: Arko
    AS/ASB: Gibbs
    Result: Ok
Today I went for a Turkish shave - massage and burning hair in the nose and ears was included in the price of 10 lira (5 euro). The guy was good and got me clean enough, but with some skin irritation as a result (he asked if I was happy after one pass, but it felt a little rough and I asked him to shave one more pass (and he did, but without lather, only water). I do get cleaner shaves shaves by myself, in general, but on a bad day or with a dull blade I get the same result (I do however consider him as a good barber, he worked fast and knew what he was doing, but it was the first time he shaved me).

Seems to me with your ability to take photographs, you can use anything for decoration.

    Great Photo!!! Thanks!!

Post Week of October 10 SOTD - Tuesday

Count Down to DC Trip: 0 day

4:30 shave this AM to catch a 6:30AM flight out of Burbank

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Razor: 7/8" Henckels #17, Hollow, Spike Point
    Brush: 23mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger
Überlather: Trumper GFT Shave Creme +Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap+ Glycerin
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Amber
Result: I was half awake - even after my shower. But, at least my Henckels was ready for duty. The shave was fabulous. No fuss, no mess...clean and BBS. The lather with GFT and MWF was equally super.

    Bill,
get ready buddy...I am looking forward to dinner with you and your wife. We're going to paint the town red. This (and talking with my wife) will probably be the highlight of my visit there.

    Glenn,
Thanks for the sentiment my friend, but since I am going there for literally a full day only (and the rest is traveling time), I don't want to mess with sending a blade back and forth via UPS and worry about it getting lost or damaged...for two shaves, I would just bite the bullet and go with the Fusion. Besides, I don't think it'll be too bad with the creme and brush...it's the "goo in the can" that irritates me. With a great lather, I actually manage to get pretty decent shaves with the Fusion...not as good as the DE or straight, but pretty darn close.

The next couple of SOTDs will probably be boring (sorry)...that is if I can even manage to take a shot using cell phone and post (my schedule is packed for the next few days)...I may have to just do without photos for the next 2 SOTDs...we'll see how things turn out.

Have a great Tuesday gentlemen . I'll try to check in once in awhile.

Oh, it's on like Donkey Kong! Get ready for some very nice wine, because you may be forced to drink a glass or two at dinner.

If you get lonely for a straight, I can always bring the Engels to dinner and let you borrow it...

    F.W. Engels Special | Kanayama | Proraso (x2) + Glycerin | Thayer's Lavender | CarrieM AfterShave Milk | Tom Ford White Suede

The Engels got a little love on the JNats this weekend along with yesterday's Fili. This blade turned out much better than the Fili. I got a very smooth comfortable BBS shave from the Engels. I decided to pair it with some old school Italian software in the Proraso White SS + Proraso SC. The CarrieM ASM always hydrates the skin in such a lovely way. To top it off, a little leather, saffron and sandalwood smell good left me energized for another day at the office.

SOTDs are looking incredible this week, gentlemen! Thank you for sharing, and for letting me share a bit of what makes my days start off so well!
