That razor is simply beautiful. I'd love to see a close up of the etching. Very Nice!

I don't usually use a DE unless I'm in a hurry. This was one of those days...

    Monday evening shave:

Razor: Henry Sears & Son "1865"
Shave Cream: Proraso (87* F in S. Indiana today!)
    A/S: Witchhazel/Nivea ASB

Result: A very nice shave. The Sears is just over 4/8 so I have to get used to the blade every time.

My brother (who got me into straights) made the razor/brush holder from a piece of cherry. I think its the nicest piece of woodworking that I own!

Thanks for the nice comment! I blew up a shot of the etching. I hope you can see it alright. It's really hard to capture this on a pic. It looks much better in person. LOL

That is a stunning etching. Hold on to that one! Thanks for the close up. I really like etched blades and the "history" behind them. This one is one of the nicest I've seen.

Thanks, it is the oldest in my rotation...Probably one of my first..I have had it so long that I can't remember when I got it...The red scales finally wore out from me carrying it in the field (Jungles, mountains, desert). I slapped those old white scales on for a temp fix a few years ago (washers from hobby lobby) and it went right back in the rotation...It wins over many of my more expensive ones that pass through, but don't stay because they find their way down the bench...

You gotta love the work that Max does, it is out of this world! Nice scales, they really bring out the personality of your razor.
