Thanks Matt! I absolutely LOVE the scent of "Bodega". It is nice & spicy, and an excellent lather (as with all of Al's creams).

Mind if I ask if your brother makes more? It seems to also house a little pocket for a DE or Str8

    Simply beautiful
Thanks everyone for the complements to the razor/brush stand. Yes there is a hole in the side that holds a straight or DE nicely. I'll share your comments with the artist! Unfortunately, its a one of a kind piece. My brother is quite a perfectionist, and used mostly hand tools, so it took weeks and weeks to get it just right. He told me he started over on the finish something like 12 times! He's definitely a craftsman and not a production guy. I may post plans if he OK's it.

    Bad Day Shave

Ive had a horrible day. Im sick and I had a tooth goto hell today. You know its bad when your dentist says "O no". I nicked my strop about ten times tonight. Im tired and in a bad mood.

    Prep - Shower
    Brush - Tweezerman badger
Soap - uberlather - Shea butter soap, glycerin, and menthol head slick shaving cream.
    Razor - Winchester
    AS - Gillette

The thing that amazes me regardless of how bad my day the shave always makes me feel better. This is one of the reasons I will never quite straight shaving. This is the first time using the tweezerman and for a 10$ brush it did well. The winchester shaved great. This is my most trusted razor and shaves well when its dull. The shea butter soap is from walmart and is the best lathering cheap soap i have found. I dont care for the smell of it butt a few seconds in the microwave took care of that. Sorry for the crappy picture im to tired to get my lights.

I love the razor. I'm sorry you had a bad day and are feeling under the weather. Glad the shave helped a little. Get some rest and hang in there

    Default Tuesday Shave!

Shavemac 21mm | Cella + Musgo Real | Wacker Mod. 4 | Razorock Alum | Institut Karite Aftershave Balm

The Musgo is razor burn prevention in a tube. I have been mixing a tiny bit with all of my soaps and have not had the slightest bit of razor burn since. I'm really liking the Musgo!

    Default Wednesday Morning

    Location: Sydney Australia
    Strop: Illinois 835
    Razor: Invicta Coronet 6/8
    Brush: Comoy Badger
    Soap: Proraso Ultra Sensitive
A/S Balm: Nivea Post Shave Balm
I haven't had access to any of my straights for a few days so I was really looking forward to this shave. I had a 4 day growth on the face and head, so I let the Invicta deal with both (I often use an electric on the head).
I feel much more human now. The Invicta's really are a lovely razor, handled the callenge and left my face feeling great.

Enjoy the rest of the week guys, and thanks for your kind thoughts.
    Cheers
    Grant

Today I went for a Turkish shave - massage and burning hair in the nose and ears was included in the price of 10 lira (5 euro). The guy was good and got me clean enough, but with some skin irritation as a result (he asked if I was happy after one pass, but it felt a little rough and I asked him to shave one more pass (and he did, but without lather, only water). I do get cleaner shaves shaves by myself, in general, but on a bad day or with a dull blade I get the same result (I do however consider him as a good barber, he worked fast and knew what he was doing, but it was the first time he shaved me).
    Looking good Mikael

    First pass shave: $5
Second pass shave (with water): $free
Realizing that you give yourself the BEST shave a man can get: Priceless

Enjoy your visit to Turkey...looks like you're having fun
