Post Week of November 7 SOTD - Sunday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Pre-Shave Oil: Truefitt & Hill
Razor: 5/8" Genco "Easy Aces", Hollow, Spike Point
    Brush: 24mm Thäter Silvertip Badger
Überlather: Castle Forbes Lavender Shave Creme + Proraso Shave Soap + Glycerin
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer
    AS Splash: Floïd Spanish Blue
Result: How else could I start a brand new SOTD week but with a brand new (and improved) razor? Yeap...this Genco Aces was my second restore by Glen. I asked Glen (after his recommendation) to put the "blue" tang back into her...Basically, a complete makeover, but I really like the personality she acquired from this workup. Very nicely done Glen . He also fitted her into new "Swirled Gold" acrylic scales, which seem to fit her perfectly. She handles great, but the shave is even better...yet another of Glen's wickedly sharp edges. Glen: thank you again for this great restore . Who could ask for anything more? The Castle Forbes Lavender/Proraso/Glycerin überlather provided for a fabulous cushion for this Genco to debut her performance. A super BBS and smooth skin. The Trumper moisturizer/Floïd mix put the perfect finishing touches to a great Sunday shave.

I've come home for 2 days to mow the lawns, do a few things around the house, and do some restoration work.
Which means access to more razors and some hones.
This C&S was one of my early hone jobs and I've allways felt it wasnt living up to its potential. So with some more experience under my belt I took it to the hones today. I've got it dialled in now, gave me a sweet sharp and smooth shave off the coti. I'll give it a ride on the Thuri tomorrow, but I wanted to test it off the coticule first.
    Have a great week gentlemen

Beautiful C&S Grant . Congrats on your milestones with honing. Isn't it fun?

PS: Are you guys remodeling the house?...hence the reason for limited access?

New Mama Bears soap, spot on re preformance, even though the scent wasn´t my favourite (good enough though).

    Mikael,
That Friodur is stunning ...Is that an 8/8"?

I have a MB Lilac & Patchouli and I love the scent. Is it the lavender or the Lilac part you don't like?

    Rene,
I think you are on a mission to collect all the straights you can get your hands on, eh? That is a fantastic find . The blade looks clean as a whistle...Nice cleanup. It looks like at some point than shank may have had a blue-ish tint to it...If so, you can send it to Glen or Max and they can put the blue-tang look back in . Regardless of blue tang or not, she's a heck of a looker.

Thank you Robert. Yes that is my mission and i take it very seriously. LOL!! Actually the tang had gold on it. Must have been a real looker when it was new.
