Tuesday 12/7/10
Genco Henry's XXX
New Forest 2211
Prairie Creations Old Spice Type ss
Thayers Cucumber WH w/ aloe
Speick a/s
Musgo Real a/s balsam
GFT Spanish Leather cologne
Took the Genco from dull to shave ready this morning on my Ardennes coticule and gave myself an absolutely outstanding shave this morning. I have been having a run of really good shaves lately and this one tops them all, especially having honed this razor totally on my own. Two passes and a few touch up passes and I am left with a shave that is as close to BBS result that I have ever achieved with a straight. I had to finish with the Musgo Real balm and the Spanish Leather. And today will be better than yesterday.

[QUOTE=BladeRunner001;700030]Result: TERRRRRRRR-IFIC !!!! What a shave today. I don't get this blade though ...the more she gets used, the sharper she seems to get (without stones). She doesn't "lose her edge" so to speak. Unreal...maybe this thing is not a carbon/steel blade after all...perhaps she is made up of some "smart" nanomaterial (e.g., next generation carbon nanotube) of the future with a self sharpening edge. Sounds good Robert.
I have a theory that razors reach their peak performance around 5-10 shaves after honing, could that apply here?

Life in Cali is going well, I have finally started to really settle in. I teach High School and coach for a small charter school out here in the Bay Area. The academic school day alone goes 8:00-5:00... add on coaching to the schedule and it makes for some VERY long days, but I love it!
However schools out on the weekends so I make sure to get out and play then.
Cheers,
Josh
