    Default SOTD -- 1.1.2011

Simpsons 57 | Mitchell's Wool Fat + Musgo Real Cream | Kamisori | Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel | Musgo Real Aftershave Balm | Musgo Real Splash

First shave of the New Year was my first shave with a Kamisori style razor. I got mixed results as the dominant side of my face was BBS, but the non-dominant side was not. I must work on getting the angle right.

On the bright side, MWF + Musgo is the ultimate uberlather in my opinion. I have not found any other combo that outperforms this duo.

First shave on the new year. Robert sent me some Cade soap. Which got me interested. I found L'Occitane in CT. I went today and bought some Vetyver. Ahhh.. Love this stuff. Decided to celebrate the new year with my Fili 13. Great choice. 3 passes what a great shave!

The soap its a good one,but not worth its price, unless that you ADORE the Green Irish Tweed scent. The Original Vetiver scent is simply superb, the best that I own with Acqua Borsari Di Parma and Acqua Di Parma.

    Default New Year's SOTD

I would like to firstly wish everyone a Happy New Year and complement the fine posts for today! Simply Amazing!
I cannot post any upper-end accessories as some! What can I say? I am my Grandaddy's Grandson! Bone Scales and Williams! I AM stocked up for the new year and started it off with a fine shave from my old Wade and Butcher Rattler before I started in on the leaves. It cannot possibly be better??? If so, I don't want to know! Blessings on the new year!

Thater brush came in the mail yesterday (the wife got me a gift certificate to SRD for Christmas) and I was excited to lather with it today. The brush did an excellent job making lather and felt great on the face. 3 passes and BBS. Happy New Year Gentlemen!
    Glenn,
An awesome to goodness shave. Very nice choice of gear. Congrats on the Thater and kudos to your wife for getting you one of the best brushes out there. Enjoy it

Fantastic blade Frank. Glad you've taken the plunge too. These are fun blades to shave with. Give it a few more tries and your non-dominant side will be equally BBS.

Your posts are a joy to read my friend. IMO, it's not at all about the accessories, but simply how enjoyable and fantastic your shave was. Well done...Looks like you need to open a small shop and sell some of your Williams (which seems to be enough for a life time?)

Thanks you for the kind words. As for the Novelty; Hmmmm...good question. I don't know. It may very well be. I have not seen too many posted or showcased. Regardless, I LOVE this blade. Takes on a heck of a scary, sharp edge.
