Post Week of January 23 SOTD - Monday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 24mm Morris & Forndran, 2-band, Blond Badger
Razor: 6/8" Wacker "Wickinger", Near wedge, French Point
Strop: 60/75 (Neil Miller linen/Premium IV leather)
Überlather: Al Raz Potomac Shave Creme + Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
Moisturizer: D.R. Harris After Shave Milk
After Shave Balm: D.R. Harris Pink After Shave
Results: So, today was the day to wipe out 6 (or 7) days of growth. There must be skin somewhere under this dense forest. One of the most important facets of this shave was going to be: perp, prep and more prep. Pure and simple. I get this wrong and I am screwed. I especially had to make sure that I ease into this as my skin had 7 day break and had undergone some dehydration during my flu. So, I reached for my tried and tested favorites, i.e., Al's creme combined with some MWF. Second important aspect is the razor. I decided to go with my near wedge Wacker. Prepping proved difficult through this dense forest, but eventually worked. After ~90 seconds, I left the lather sitting for 2 minutes and prepped again and repeated the process three more times. When I felt satisfied, I took the metal to the face and started chomping at the bits. I could feel that this was going to be like the first time shaving...my face was a bit raw. Nevertheless, I proceeded with zero pressure. It took 3 WTG passes to clear the dense forest to a manageable level. I left the shave at XTG. This shave left me with a smiling face !!! I feel near-BBS and clean. Zero irritation. My wife didn't recognize me.
