Then while shaving, I just can’t get this little patch right on the edge of the chin… keep at even though I know it’s going to end bad… it does. I ended up with four weepers and a little razor burn on that chin edge that I JUST KEPT AT. After I rub the alum block across the whole face feels like a mess, the Proraso balm helped though, a little Aquarius to add a little burn to remind me for the day. Then the final insult was after stropping, cause I know that it needs a touch up I turn the blade half way up the strop and slice. A horrible shave, I should have just let the beard rest for a day.

Sorry you had a bad shave. It will just make the next shave better!

PS: Curious as to why you'd prefer the Semogue 2010 LE to the Polo?
    Robert,
    thank you very much!

PS: No, I really like my Polo 10, it's is an excellent shaving brush! …but for this SODT (Spanish theme) is now would have been better a Semogue 2010 LE. I like Semogue 2010 LE too, but unfortunately I don't have (yet).

    Cheers,

    Default Super Sotd

    Greetings, Fellows! Nice posts today!

I was given this 1860 Wostenholm frameback to do an heirloom resto in a shadow box for a friend. It was super rusty and worm-eaten. After finishing, I could not help but make a bevel and hone it. I shaved with it this AM and WOW!
A shame it's going in a shadow box, but at least it IS a shaver! I am glad to own one like it and am now more anxious than ever to get it going
    What a shave!!!!!

Now, that sounds like my kinda shave...nice and long and enjoyable. Well done maestro

Shavemac 2-bands are absolutely a dream to use. I have a custom 24mm and she is one of the densest (yet soft tips) with stiffest backbone brushes I own. Love this beast.

Beautiful blade too....But wait a second....hey, where's the model we've so become accustomed to seeing??? Were you just teasing us, LOL.
Thank you Robert Teasing, well, I think you will se her again in the SOTD, but not everyday

    Default Sunday

Prep: Hot shower--followed by Lucky Tiger Molle' Brushless SC
Brush: Omega Lucretia Borgia Series "Super Badger"
SC: The Gentlemens Refinery 2 "Black Ice"
Strop: VB Red Latigo--55 fabric; 60 leather
    Razor: 5/8 Dovo "Prima Klang"
    Astringent: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    ASB: Nivea for Men "Sensitive"
    AS: Ogallala Bay Rum
    Result: Feeling like a millionaire...

This GR 2 "Black Ice" shaving cream is nice. The fragrance--anise--reminds me of licorice from my days as a kid at the notions counter in the corner grocery. It is not bad at all in terms of shaving lather either, although I want to reserve final judgment in that area until I have used it more than once.
