Post Week of February 13 SOTD - Thursday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 26mm Saville Row 3326 Silvertip Badger
Razor: 7/8" Wostenholm I•XL "Celebrated", 1/2 Hollow, Barber's Notch, G10 Black (Restored by Max)
Strop: 5/10 (Torolf linen/Premium IV leather)
Überlather: Acca Kappa "1869" Shave Creme + Acca Kappa "1869" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue
    Cologne: Acca Kappa "1869" EdC
Results: The fifth razor in the line up of seven Maxterpieces this week is the Wostenholm Celebrated . This beauty is clothed in G10 black scales, beautifully fitted to accentuate the blade's curves. I must say that this blade was honed up by yours truly. She took on a wonderfully sharp and smooth edge. Being a heavy grind, it took me a good long time to get her to the point where she popped hair, but once there, I was very very happy...almost as good as Max' edges (I wish...not really, but close). The Saville Row and Acca Kappa überlather was a delightful combination for prepping this 1-day old stubble, which this Wosty just effortlessly wiped away . An excellent shave today. I am happy, my wife is happy and my face is even happier.

    Have an GREAT Thursday guys.

The razors he restored are really kind of art.

    Thursday, February 17th

    Razor: D R Harris Chatsworth
Blade: Schick Plus Platinum (with Teflon)
    Brush: Simpson Douglas
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: Portman Square Collier Row Hard Soap
    A/S: Trumper Extract of Limes

The Portman Square Tallow and Lanolin Hard Soap has not yet been released but, it is getting close. It reminds me a bit of the Valobra hard soap but with a better scent and added lanolin. The Collier Row scent is a blend of grapefruit and cedar with the emphasis squarely on the citrus; it is an excellent spring/summer scent. I enjoyed an excellent shave and the extract of limes was the perfect finish.

Thank you Bro! Wonderful brushes! But are you sure about your Chubby 2, it looks like a two band on the picture, but I guess it could be an optical illusion.

Thank you Brother Robert! I get it, you´re a good teacher!

    Mikael,
I am loving this shot and shave. Congrats. What was the NF brush for? Maybe head shave?

    Mikael,
    Chubby2 Best doesn't come in 2-band.

Thank you! It was a nice one today. I´m trying out a soap, so I did two batches today, I had lather that prob would have been enough for all of todays SOTD shaves

Sometimes (not to uncommon) Simpson makes a misstake and puts the wrong knot in a brush, if it´s a better knot they don´t correct it, it becomes a bonus to however buys it. I know several people how has managed to get one of those deals. Once I thought I had a deal like that too, but it was a wrongful picture from a Ebay seller (even though I asked if the brush was the exact same one as in the picture).

11/16 C-Mon Special, Full Hollow Spike Point
    Proraso Pre-Shave Cream
    Irisch Moos Shave Cream
    Parker Medium Badger
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Nivea Replenishing ASB
    Pashana Original Cologne
    Close, smooth and powerful!

My DW gave her "Whew!" comment so I know the Pashana is doing it's thing. It's really a wonderful scent and has all day staying power!
The C-Mon is up to par after the last honing and produced a very close shave. With the Irisch Moos and Pashana combo I'm ready to go to the Club and have a Sherry and nice Cigar. It doesn't get any better than this!
