1 Year Anniversary of joining SRP
Prep:Hot Shower
Brush:AOS Pure Badger
Strop:SRD PIV English Bridle
Soap: AOS Sandalwood
Razor: TI AOS
After shave: AOS Sandalwood ASB
EDT:none
Hones:1k, 4k, 8k Norton, vintage Thuringian
Result:I honed up the TI today as if it were a brand new razor (reset bevel, etc). It gave an easy and effortless shave. The edge off of the Thuringian is nice, different than off my J-NATS, but I like it Today is my 1yr SRP anniversary, so for today's shave I used the gear from my first ever straight razor shave(with a few exceptions: I left my first strop in a hotel in IN and I ran out of AOS cream and replaced it with soap). I know my first shave was in February before I joined (I had never heard of SRP) and that it was terrible and how I ended up here. Looking at my first few posts and all the warm welcomes and helpfulness that I received, I'm so grateful to be here and be a part of this community. I didn't post my first SOTD until May, but when I did, I knew I found my corner of SRP. This has been (and continues to be) such a rewarding journey. I've learned so much in the past year (I never thought that 1yr later I would be honing up my own blade...still not a pro though ). So today's shave is dedicated to each of you my shaving brothers. Thanks for being there and making others feel accepted and not crazy for having and loving this little obsession of shaving.
Cheers!
Glenn
