    Default SOTD -- 3.1.2011

Rudy Vey | Filarmonica DT 12 | Custom Bomb | Alum | Cade Balm | Mazzolari Vetiver

This has nothing to do with my SOTD, but I have officially given up bowl lathering and converted to face lathering. My shaves have improved tremendously since I made the switch.

Glad it is working for you. Is it because you are getting a better lather, or because it preps your beard better, or some other reason?

My lather is always about the same. I would attribute it to better beard prep in that I am spending more time on the face as opposed to in the bowl. Whatever it is, I like it.

One down, 3 more to go. This one looks great Tom. Congrats and I hope you get the other ones soon.

Thank you José & Frank. This extra Hollow is truly a remarkable blade. The shave with her was extra smooth (literally). I have another Böker coming my way from Australia. It's a 7/8" Arbolito #14...and best of all, a Max restore. Can't wait for that beauty either. Stay tuned.

    Matt,
Beautiful blade (of course). I also agree with your assessment of DR Harris...Their soaps are among some of the best out there. I love the feel of the lather.

That is one beautiful blade Bruce (and I understand the razor drool factor, LOL). I got my Wild Rose the other day and LOVE the scent.

Oh my!!!! Check out that Soap bowl/container. I love it. It looks so cool

And of course, your shot definitely has everything highlighted and popping clear out of the screen. Well done

Yeah...I know what you mean. This one in particular gave a very nice and super smooth shave. I barely felt the blade on my skin. The feedback/feel was absolutely amazing.

What do you mean "you can't get them anymore". I have a lot of them on eBay. Good ones go for a good premium, but I think if you're patient, you can snatch one at a reasonable price. Soon, you'll be counting badgers instead of sheep, LOL.

You traitor, LOL...just because you got married, doesn't mean you can ditch the bowl that easily, LOL, LOL. Seriously, glad face lathering is working out.

What are the scales on your Othello? I've never seen a grain like that. Great SOTD pic!
