    Prep:Hot Shower
    Brush:Semogue 830
    Strop:SRD PIV English Bridle
Uberlather:Tabac Cream, Tabac Soap, 5 drops glycerin
    Razor: Genco “Easy Aces”
    After shave: Alt Innsbrook
    EDT: Creed Original Vetiver

Result:I didn't shave yesterday and was looking forward to this morning's shave. The lather was superb and the Semogue has really broken in quite nicely. It is time to take this blade to the stones (I tightened a pin on her and think I may have inadvertently rubbed the blade on the side of the scales when she was loose).

What a great start to the week! Excellent pics and posts gentlemen!

    Thanks!

    Glenn

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: 28mm Shavemac 410
Razor: 5/8 C.V. Heljestrand "K&B Extra". 1/4 hollow, French point
    Strop: DOVO Cowshide
    Creme: Palmolive
    Aftershave balm: De Vergulde Hand
Results: Very utilitarian shave, I start my new job tomorrow and want to try and shave at least every other day in the morning, so time is of the essence.

The more I shave with the Heljestrand, the more I understand it's feedback. Although it feels rough on the skin, the post-shave alum tells me otherwise. 2 pass clean and irritation-free shave.

    Enjoy the week gentlemen.

Post Week of February 27 SOTD - Monday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 26mm Chubby #2, Super Badger
Razor: 15/16" Filarmonica DT 14, Hollow, Spike Point (Pistachio scales)
Strop: 50/55 (Neil Miller linen/Premium IV leather)
Überlather: Acca Kappa "1869" Shave Creme + Acca Kappa "1869" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: NancyBoy Replenishing Facial Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue
    Cologne: Acca Kappa "1869" EdC
Results: A SENSATIONAL Shave today with this combination of hardware/software . Whereas the Chubby 2 made an amazing überlather out of this Acca Kappa duo, the Filarmonica was an absolute delight to use this AM. She was touched up last night on the Asagi, during the Oscars. A fabulous and moisturizing prep and after 3 effortless passes, I was pleasantly greeted to a BBS and smooth skin. I could not believe what I was witnessing in front of my eyes - 3 days of "rough" growth wiped away at the snap of a finger. All this with absolutely zero irritation or redness. Today's shave is a testament as to why Filarmonicas are so highly regarded and praised for. For those of you that own of of these beauties, congratulations . Cherish and enjoy it. For those who don't, get one. You will not regret it.

Have a SUPERB start of the week guys.

SRD soap are really great...I don;t know which ones you got, but the SRD Bulgarian Rose is very highly regarded in these neck of the woods. I also have the Vetiver and lavender, which are equally great. I may, at some point, try the "Sweet Gale" (that is if I can make room in my soap drawers).

I hope you don't end up selling your other blades...part of the fun in this sport is the variety that it bestows on us.

    Mikael,
Very true. I have 3 Chubbys and love them all. Great brushes. I also love that Revisor of yours and good choice on soap. DR Harris has some of teh best triple milled soaps out there. Fabulous lataher. With the Chubby, it must have been heaven.

I quote one at a time, but before posting, I combine (cut and paste) and then post. I forget which post (I think last week) , but I mentioned this to Rene and some others who were asking. The multiquote function button ONLY allows for 5 quotes at a time.

    Fonti,
This feature ONLY allows you to do 5 multiquotes, not more.

This weekend I found a pleasant surprise in the mail - a puck of CarrieM's Black Raspberry Vanilla soap to match my BRV cream.
    Bill,
Agreed...That is one great smelling creme. Congrats. Look at that lather, oozing out of the bowl. Great blade to match

    Glenn,
Fantastic combination of hardware and software. Tabac rules and I am sure that the Aces will not disappoint you after the stones...She is a wonderful and unassuming shaver.

    Hey BB,
Awesome blade. The Heljes are held in very high regard around these forums...and rightfully so. They are some of the best blades around. Try freshening up the edge or sending it out to be honed (if you don't feel comfortable). The edge should not feel rough on the skin.

CV Heljestrand MK No 32 - Semogue LE Boar 2009 - AOS Sandalwood - NancyBoy

After a year, by the overwhelmingly kind graces of one of our esteemed SRP brothers, this razor is now back in my rotation. I wiped the edge on glass, rehoned it without tape using the nagura progression and this razor is now far smoother than I could have imagined. What a joy! Thank you John!

The cubbys are nice and it´s a fine line - I love my 2 in super too and my New Forest Tubby2 aswell, but this Chubby 3 is so nice. It´s hard to describe, but the bristles are extra ordinair, simply.
