Filarmonica | MdC | Semogue Custom Boar | Thayers Rose | CarrieM ASM | Creed Bois de Santal

I did not shave yesterday, so today was a treat. The MdC gives such an incredible lather, and the Filarmonica wiped the two day growth off my face without even a thought. I'm BBS and ready for Court!

Thanks for the incredible shots lately gentlemen, as I prepare for a trial on Monday, I've had no time to comment or respond to much. Your efforts and your contributions here are all so well appreciated.

Strop: A H Christian Vintage strop
    Brush: Comoy Badger
    Soap: Proraso
    Razor: Invicta Coronet 6/8
    Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel
    A/S: Old Spice
Result: Just a lazy 2 passes tonight but that was easily enough to achieve a damn fine shave, very smooth. I dont know if you guys ever see these Invicta's over in the U.S. but if you ever do I highly recommend them. They were made by E.M. Dickinson of Sheffield, I have 3 in my collection and they're all superb shavers.
Have a great Friday gents, and enjoy your weekend.

It just doesn't get much better than this. The intent was to do a Hollywood shave (3 passes) but the razor was so sharp that I could have easily gotten away with 1 pass. The second was nearly academic so I didn't even bother with a third. Bravo! For the new guy from Ekelstuna!

    Prep:Hot Shower
Brush:TGN 20mm Silvertip Custom in Emerald Swirl
    Strop:SRD PI Paddle Strop
    Cream:TBS Macca Root
    Razor: Dovo “Best Quality”
After shave: Pinaud Clubman & Alum
    EDT: Drakar Noir

Result: It's been a long week out of town with work and I get to fly home this afternoon (so glad the themed week is next week and wasn't this week). I enjoyed a 3 pass super luxurious shave this morning. I started with a hot shower, then made a huge amount of lather. I lathered up the face and took care of some work email while the lather sat. I rinsed, re-lathered, and massaged it in, followed by a hot towel, rinse, relather and the shave...ahhhhhhhh! The bags are packed, I've got some new shave goodies waiting for me at home, and a beautiful wife and little girl waiting on me. Isn't life sweet!

    Have an amazing Friday Gentlemen!

    Default Friday morning

    Prep: Hot shower
    Brush: New Forest
    Razor: British Ever Ready
    Soap: Nannys The Spicy One
AS: Old Spice Musk, Shulton blend
    Strop: My hand
    Result: Very close
Nannys soap was a mad and spicy one today - Sthlick´s the main word. The new formula seems very nice indeed and prob a notch or two better than the old one, how´s that even possible I don´t know. The Ever Ready was a nice change of path, it produces a very cool sound when shaving, almost like a delicate/very thin full-extra hollow straight. It´s so easy to shave the neck with a saftey razor , but I got a little to close on one or two spots (no nicks though).

    Friday 11.03.11

    Good day Gentlemen!

Started with filling the Schwartzweiss XL scuttle and putting the Simpson Chubby 3 in the hot water. Then I picked up a Thiers-Issard Crown Silverwing 11/16 and gave it 40/60 on my SRD Black Latigo strop. At this stage my face was prepared with hot water and a nice hair conditioner for softening of the beard. I had also opened the lid on the Castle Forbes Lime, and the wonderful smell filled my bathroom. Shaving with the TI Crown 11/16 was incredible, almost like it gave a deeper shave than my other blades, but with the same smooth feeling. After 4 passes, the last two ATG I hade a real BBS all over. Finished up with some Gentlemen Tonic Aftershave cream and a few drops of Musgo Real classic scent. Touching my skin after this shave reminds me of why I love straight shaving!

I hope our brothers in Japan and elsewhere are OK. Prayers sent to the victims.
