Not only do I visit the Shave of the Day frequently to seek out new ways and products, but for some of the most amazing digital photographs to be found on the world wide web. Very, very talented gents here.

A Dovo Acquisition Disorder?!! How many do you have?
Go US...that must have been a nice match Tom. Thanks for the link Tom.
David,
One thing I noticed with Ogallala Cologne/AS is that you really have to shake it well...I mean, very well. Give the bottle a 10-15 second vigorous shake before using it. The scent lasts longer. The reason is that if you hold the blue bottle against a bright light (when the liquid is settled) and gently tumble it from side to side, you will notice an oily mass at the bottom of the bottle and some on top (harder to see). Those are the good stuff and it needs to be emulsified by shaking. If you don't shake, you will tend to take more or less of certain EOs, undermining performance of the AS over time. Just my 2 cents.
Paul,
It is so great that you are jumping both feet in and participating. Kudos and welcome (again) to SOTD and SRP. As for tips, I don;t know about Musgo Real as I have not used it before, but I read that it is a very very good creme. The trick with this (or any other creme/soap) is to try and practice making lather until you get a thick, consistent, moist, and slick lather. So, don't give up...keep at it and experiment with the water:soap ratio and don't forget the third ingredient of a great lather is air. Whip it up real good. The more air you get into it, the more mixing occurs and the better your lather. Another tip is to whip the lather for a good reasonable time (usually 60 to 90 seconds).
As for longevity of blades, only you can determine this. The SRP forum and people experience is a guideline and nothing more. See what works for your face and your beard type. For someone, a Derby may last 5 shaves whereas others may experience failure in 2 shaves. YMMV.
Oscar,
Nice shave nonetheless. Would jeans work as a stropping medium?
I love your Kobar Mark, but I must say that the plunger doesn't do it justice, LOL. Hope you got all the pipes fixed and cleaned up and readied for Spring
Teiste,
How is the Cadre Noir? Very classy shave
WoooHoooo Matt...Another Cella victim, LOL. That is a GREAT soap (along with MWF). Congrats
Sounds like an awesome shave. Great looking razor too.
Glen,
Heck...If I were running late, I'd be too chicken to reach for anything other than a DE. But noooo...what do you do? You go straight for the jugular, using a Kamisori. You are da MAN!!!!
Nice shave Frank, but one question though:
Did you get the purple vase/mug to match the blade or vice versa, LOL? Very nice

Saturday morning
Prep: Hot shower
Soap: Henks Dutch Moss
AS: Lucky Tiger + TOBS Original
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean
I like this blade, a lot. Seems like it´s a chubby one and compact (I thought so at first), but it´s not. When I mesured the cutting edge it was 3,7-3,8 inches long, depending where you start to mesure. Yet it moves way easy around the face

I was thinking that myself. Might go to the hardware store and acquire a pair of D-rings. Now just have to decide if it's the 501s or the Dolce & Gabbanas are for the chop! No seriously both pair of jeans are too big for me now and I would hate to think I may fit them again some day so where did I put those scissors?
Oscar.

I have ended up staying in Sydney longer than expected. I only brought 2 razors and stropped them before I left, assuming I would only be here long enough for 2 shaves and save bringing a strop with me. So like our friend oscarbowman I used the good old newspaper trick. I also had great results (I actually used to use a newspaper strop as a finisher before my I found my Thuri). It was a fantastic shave, I really recommend that some of you guys give it go, especially those who have a keen sense for assessing different edges. I'd be interested to hear your opinions. For the record I did 15 passes on the leg of my jeans followed by 100 laps on the newspaper.
