Good move Dunc...practice blades are the way to go when learning how to hone. C-Mon for Monday is great enough for me...They're fabulous blades.

Hey Bill...we were wondering if you were having a great time. Now, we know that you are. Firenze is very special indeed. Enjoy your time there.

Sorry for the camera. I guess instead of your next custom, you should be investing in a nice new camera, LOL.

What do you mean too late? Don't you know the saying: 'A man is not complete until he is married, and after that he is finished', LOOOOOOL. Here's to us "finished" guys .
PS: Great shave though...have fun at the wedding

Results: A spectacular shave again. I nailed the edge on this one. Super-smooth yet killer sharp
    B.,
That Novodur is one beautiful piece of steel my friend. Congrats on getting the perfect edge. I also found that the Escher is the perfect finisher for the Filarmonicas. JNat does a great job too, but the Escher edge is something else. Well done brother, well done

Oh, and Robert - big congrats on reaching 3k posts
Lovely razor buddy and thank you for the kind words

    T.,
That is one nice W&B. I am envious of this shave brother, but very nicely done. Congrats

    Feather AS-D1 Razor
    Feather blade
    New Forest Tubby 1
    Vulfix Persian Musk
    Alum
    St James Founders reserve,
    Manderin & Patchouli gel Balm
    St James Cedarwood & Clarysage,
    Eau de cologne.

Such a good shave first time with some of these products, love the Eau de cologne and the balm, I also have the shaving cream in the Cedarwood and clarysage, two pass shave, very close, but it's always a great shave when you have about three days growth, very impressed with the St James Founders reserve, gave the New Forest Tubby 1 it's first run out super little brush.

    Jamie.

This shave is partly a belated nod to Mark (Blugill), RIP.

My compliments to all the contributors this week, and my apologies. If I went through this thread "liking" everything, this post would probably belong in next week's thread.

Earlier this week, a parcel arrived from Neil Miller:

    Interesting box, eh?

A matched pair of Rodgers in ivory, which I picked up for a song a while back. There was quite a lot of active rust, and one of the scales needed replacing. As things turned out, Neil wound up doing quite a lot of additional work: another new scale, some grinding and lots of buffing, none of which is within my scope. Needless to say I'm bowled over with the results, and my hat is well and truly doffed to him.

    SRP:

New Forest 2211 silvertip; Martin de Candre; witch hazel; Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta.

Normally I get on better with full hollows, like a lot of people I suspect, but both of these shave as well and as easily as anything else I've used.

I honed this last night. WOW! I wish all razors honed up this fast. I must say i didnt have much to shave after My Olmsted Glenn did for me. Yet the minute this razor touched my face she attacked the stubble with a vengence. 2 passes and her reign of terror was over. She took no prisoner. She is a deadly beauty! Hmmm....... Like most women!
