Location: 36° 0'5"N - 115° 15' 21"W Razor: Filarmonica EPBD 14 Brush: Simpson PJ 3 Soap: MDC Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel AS: Aramis EDT: Aramis Summary: I had grown a scruffy beard this week so decided to take my EPBD for a spin. Man, had I forgotten how great of a shave that baby can deliver. It cut through my beard like a walk in the park with so much ease. Combined with the excellent lather properties of Martin De Candre soap. BBS all the way. Not one micron leftover hair left. This was definitely one of those shaves that makes you smile. Gents, keep up the wonderful posts. Enjoy the new week

Lovely day and a lovely shave, the freshly cut Rose perks of the job looking after my neighbours house and garden while she's away in Australia. After cutting the Rose using it in the photo, then later in a very caculating way I hand the Roses to my wife as a romantic gesture, then I can do no wrong for the entire weekend, result!
Jamie.

Sunday June 5th
Had a great shave this morning. I purchased the razor off ebay. This is one scary sharp critter. Nicked myself a few shaves before I got my technique in place. The ingredients are eShave this morning.

MWF Hand Soap,
GFT Lime SS,
Simpson Duke 3,
Dovo 5/8,
Razorock Alum,
GFT Lime SF,
L'Occitan EdT.
Two points worthy of comment?
1) This is my first Sunday straight shave!
Just out of habit I continued to use my DE on Sundays. This was because of my fear, in the early learning days, of perhaps having to go to church with one of my ears hanging off!
2) I found an interesting tip on the Internet (So it must be true!!) of rubbing a couple of drops of GFT skin food onto the surface of the shaving soap prior to loading the brush. This not only softens the dry soap but the glycerin helps the lather.
End result.......an amazing shave.

Fantastic way to start off this week Max. I love it.
Now, there's a man who knows how to rack up brownie point with his wife. Well done Jamie. Beautiful shot and fabulous shave.
A most excellent shave Béla.
Well done Alex. Your Rodgers & Sons rocks and kudos for choosing Al's SC/ASB. To say that his products are fantastic would be an understatement.
Oh wow Birnando,
That sounds like the perfect Sunday. And what an incredible way to start it but with such amazing gear. That Palmera rocks my friend and so does the Thäter and Al's SC/ASB. Have fun on the golf course.
PS: How do you like the MdC Lavende? I find it a bit too strong and "too pure" (if this makes sense)...I personally prefer their Limette and Vetyver.
Awesome Otto...Simply awesome. Love your choice of music too.
Tom,
What a beautiful journey this was indeed. Thank you for taking all of us along for the ride as well. I can't speak for the others (although I am certain they will all agree), but I really had a blast of a time on your vacation my friend. Thank you for sharing a bit of your time with us every day.
PS: looking forward to your shave this PM
What a fantastic 3-some. I love that Henckels. They are really wonderful razors.
Grant,
And what beautiful pieces of steel they are too. Nicely done mate. Enjoy the rest of your day/night
I bet it was Mikael...especially with the gear you used today.
A beautiful combo...sounds like a match made in Heaven. Uber-ing is certainly a lot of fun and extremely rewarding. Enjoy the beautiful day
Fabulous razor and shot José
Arild,
That is indeed a wonderful piano concerto...very difficult to play too. Very emotionally charging and relaxing.
..And a beautiful finale to start the day. Great shave Arild. Simply great. I definitely felt this one.
Oh boy...here we go again, LOOOOOL.
Excellent gear for this Sunday Blueman
Great razor Tom...I bet time with Alex was a lot of fun. How many cigars did you come out with?
Congratulations on a "scary" good buy. eShave is a wonderful creme for sure. Great shave
Oscar,
(1) Congrats on shaving "out of the box" my friend. I bet your pastor sees you in a whole new light too
(2) That is a very interesting tip. My 2 cents: If it's the glycerin that helps the soap, then why not just add 2 drops of glycerin on top of soap? Should achieve the same results.
That is one sexy frameback T.
Nice Tabac-olicious shave.Last edited by BladeRunner001; 06-05-2011 at 03:18 PM.

Week of June 5 SOTD - Sunday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush (Rudy Vey): 26mm w/ TGN Silvertip Grade A Badger (Kingwood Handle) Razor: 15/16" Filarmonica "Doble Temple" #14, Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point Strop: 45/65 laps (Neil Miller linen / SRD Premium IV leather) Überlather: La Toja "Manantiales" Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: La Toja Manantiales AS Cologne: La Toja Manantiales EdC Results: After a long, fun and busy day yesterday (back to back birthday celebrations), I am ready for a relaxing Sunday and a luxurious shave to boot. This (almost) all Spanish affair shave fit the bill this morning . This custom RV brush whipped up one of nicest lathers I have come to appreciate out of my top 5 soaps - a bowl full of incredibly moist, thick, shiny and sticky rich bed of snowy white suds
. Of course, such an incredible lather requires nothing but an equally matched razor to complement it. Hence the reason to reach for the Filarmonica (I refreshed her edge using my Y/G Escher stone). I was rewarded with a incredibly buttery smooth shave
.
