I did not shave yesterday. After the news of Mark's sudden and untimely passing I just did not feel like doing much. I went to bed pretty early. Today I took a cool shower and needed to shave. I grabbed the Puma I got from Rene and went at the 2 day growth.

    Cool shower
    Warm Oil
    Dirty Bird Scuttle
Uber Lather AOS Sandalwood, Trumper's Violet and a bit of glycerine
    Puma, 5/8 full hollow
SRD P1 50 Felt a bunch on leather
    AOS Aluminum
    Pinaud Bay Rum
    Vaseline for men.

    Notes: 2-pass catfish belly smooth.
    Sten,
That is one heck of a fabulous tribute with this wonderful Wosty. All brass too? Is she easy to shave with or is the weight/balance an issue?

    David,
Thanks brother. I know what you mean, but I need my arms to shave with this thing, otherwise, it is useless (NOOOOOT, LOL)

I guess I am not going to invite you next time, LOOOOOOOL. I'll just send her to Max for safekeeping...oh wait, that won't work either. He's going to conveniently misplace it, LOOOL. I know, I can send it to Rene...Nope, that won't work either. His Post Office loses things left and right. Heeyyyy...I'll have my wife hide her for me. But, wait, she may sell it and buy shoes. OMG!!! is there anyone I can trust, LOOOOOOOOL????

    David,
A "Shiner Bock" would have really hit the spot too (after the shave of course). Sure sounds like a wonderful shave though, TX-style

I know how you feel Jeff...2011 has not started on the right footing for most folks. This forum has lost 2 of our greats this year, not counting the "personal" losses we have incurred. Hang tough my friend.

    PS: Great Puma btw. Congrats

Joseph Elliot Wedge - RSC Menthol Cream - NF2213 - Alum - Oldspice Whitewater

Applied a 3rd layer of tape and formed a micro bevel ala the unicot method, sharpness improved buy could it still be more so? Only one way to find out!
Result of the shave test: DFS Very Clean.

    In memory of absent friends
I sit here remembering friends now gone, with a glass of brandy.
On Sunday my martial arts club are holding a 10 hour training session for charity to mark the passing of one of our black belts due to breast cancer aged just 46, today was her funeral.
Wish me luck for Sunday as I intend to do the full 10 hours.
I raise a glass to our own Mark and my friend Sarah both taken too soon.

    Robert,
I hope Mark would have been proud. I always enjoyed his pictures of his Big A$$ cans of beer. It is a loss to our SOTD community. May his beer thread live forever. In my profession I deal with death on a regular basis, but the passing of Blugill has struck a chord close to home. I pray that his family can find comfort and peace with their loss.

This mornings shave follows as all previous (as my acquisitions are are par with my experience... that is they are somewhat lacking).

A decent shave not as nice as the shave I get with the Black Star but serviceable none the less.

Vibes to all that have been touched by Blugill, in my short time here I began to appreciate his contributions particularly SOTD and BOTD.
