Default A "Gem" of a shave for Blugill.

    Razor: Gem 1912
    Blade: Gem CS
    Pre-shave: Noxzema
    Brush: Rooney pure badger
    Soap: VDH Deluxe
AS: Thayers Lavender and English Leather
Result: I would never have picked up this SE if it had not been for Mark's love and enthusiasm for these SE razors. After shaving with this one several times now, I can honestly share in his enthusiasm for them. Three pass BBS, as easy as they come.

Post Week of June 5 SOTD - Wednesday

In Memory of Mark (aka, Blugill)
I miss you my friend (Texas Style)

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush (Rudy Vey): 26mm w/ TGN Silvertip (Grade A) Badger
Razor: 11/16" J.R. Torrey, Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point
Strop: 45/60 laps (Neil Miller linen / SRD Premium IV leather)
Überlather: Acca Kappa "1869" Shave creme + Acca Kappa "1869" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Amber AS
Cologne: Acca Kappa "Muschio Bianco" EdC
Results: I couldn't sleep much last night. I wish I had a GEM or other SE to properly dedicate this shave to Mark. But knowing how much he liked American steel, I took out this Torrey in his honor. This razor already holds a special place in my collection. After refreshing her edge on the Asagi w/Nagura progression, she gave me the kind of shave Mark would have been proud. Let's just call it BBS and as smooth as a catfish's belly (sorry Mark, but without the smell ). I will miss your "colorful" and descriptive posts my friend.

Have a PEACEFUL Wednesday gentlemen .

    David,
Now, that's a first class shave, Blugill-style. He would have loved this one.

    Shave prep: Face wash
Brush: Omega boar brush Model # 81052
    Soap: Mitchells Wool Fat
Razor: Edwr Atkinson, Sheffield, 4/8 wedge.
    Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
After Shave Splash: Florida Water, home blended.
Notes: Possibly my oldest razor, guesstimated from the early aera of Queen Victoria, with scales that possibly pre-date the razor. It's a thrill shaving with this sweet razor.

Thank you Robert - this was in the dark ages, when I was enslaved by the dreaded multiblades - altho perhaps there were still only 2 at the time. I remember struggling to find a brush even, not a good one, just any. How times have changed.

I am still shocked and sad at the passing of Mark. This thread is a wonderful tribute to him. That is all.
