That sounds like the perfect Sunday. And what an incredible way to start it but with such amazing gear. That Palmera rocks my friend and so does the Thäter and Al's SC/ASB. Have fun on the golf course.

PS: How do you like the MdC Lavende? I find it a bit too strong and "too pure" (if this makes sense)...I personally prefer their Limette and Vetyver.
How would you describe the Vetyver? Is it as spicy as some out there? Or fresh?

Anyway, no shave for me today (I never shave on a Monday). But I took out a 2cm (just under an inch) long ingrown hair from my neck/chin line last night. Felt very satisfying!!

DRH Arlington is indeed fabulous in every sense. I think you should also try the regular soap in a bowl. You will also find her to be a regular addictive part of any shave den
    Robert,

Thanks...This was the first time that I ever attended a college reunion. It was enjoyable. I found that a lot more of them remembered me than I remembered them. Saw and talked with my freshmen year roommate. He's a bankruptcy lawyer now. Another fellow is now an orthopedic surgeon. Found out that Mark Haines, the CNBC anchor of their morning show who recently passed away, was an alum of my college.

As for the DRH shaving soap in a bowl...I have it on my wish list--along with the shaving cream. I really like the cologne too. It reminds me of Caswell-Massey's "Number Six," but it is a bit stronger and has more staying power than Number Six.

BTW...The Martin De Candre shaving soap you sent me arrived safe and sound while I was away. I'll be using it shortly. Thanks again for handling the order.

    Mysore Sandalwood soap
    Merkur 34C-HD
    Gillette super thin blade
    Simpsons Chubby 2
    TOBS Sandalwood cream
    Alum
    TOBS Balm + Propolis
    TOBS Eau de cologne.

I think you can see a kind of theme going on here yes you guess it TOBS and Sandalwood, anway it's a bit like Marmite to some people, you either love it or you hate it, no sitting on the fence with Sandalwood, but I have always loved the scent of Sandalwood, very enjoyable shave, 2 pass shave with a little swish here and there, BBS, must say how very impressed i've been the straight razors on here, they look great in the photo's.

    Tom,
I bet you're very happy to be back home, with your collection. It's a good feeling indeed. Wonderful shave

Congratulations Konstantinos on your 1st foray into SE shaving. I am sorry about the neck irritation though. But I guess it goes with the territory (e.g., learning a new razor and all). No worries, I am sure you'll get the handle on this soon enough. Well done

That's a mighty fine looking blade Birnando. Beautiful...Sorry to hear that she failed to deliver on the shave, but honing may just be what the doctor ordered. What stones work best with this one?

After a year with it now, I think the scent is disappearing a bit, but it is delicate either way. It's a soap with bee's wax and lanolin and feels great on the face. I don't get anywhere near as much sting as I did when I tried, Kent/MWF. Let me know if I can answer any other questions on this soap.
Thanks Rum...I think I remember seeing a review a while back. So, I think this one is the old, talow/lanolin-based formulation, not the new one. If so, then she must be fantastic. Congrats maestro. Hmmmm, but maybe less lanolin than MWF, which may explain less sting?

Beautiful Mikael. Simply beautiful. The les troix are some of the most sought-after blades it seems. They fetch some top $ on eBay. Well done my friend. And congratulations on the Swedish National Day. Enjoy your picnic today my friend.

It's certainly more of the raw/woodsy scent...but, there is a fresh overtone mixed in as well which gives this a very nice smooth scent, imo. I really like it. A very little goes a very long way. I like how the scent dries down and evolves (with my skin chemistry at least)

Enjoy the "No-Shave" day Rum. It always feels good

2cm ingrown???!! Dang, that's a long piece of hair. Way to go. I bet it felt satisfying.

Glad you had a great time Monroe. I never went to mine. Every time they have it, I am out of town (Murphy's law I guess, LOL). Ididn't know Mark Haines was an alum there. I loved his commentaries on CNBC. I used to watch it religiously. It was a shock learning about his passing.

Good luck with the Arlington...I am sure Santa will be arriving early for you this year, LOOOOOL.

You're welcome with the MdC soap my friend (and glad it arrived safely). The pleasure was all mine. Enjoy it.

Very nicely done Jamie. Love the English (not just Sandalwood) theme as well. Couldn't agree with you more on Sandalwood. No sitting on the fence. I love it as well...One of my favorites is the scent of Indian Sandalwood. FA-BU-LOOOOUS!!!!
