Now, there's a man who knows how to rack up brownie point with his wife. Well done Jamie. Beautiful shot and fabulous shave.

Well done Alex. Your Rodgers & Sons rocks and kudos for choosing Al's SC/ASB. To say that his products are fantastic would be an understatement.

    Oh wow Birnando,
That sounds like the perfect Sunday. And what an incredible way to start it but with such amazing gear. That Palmera rocks my friend and so does the Thäter and Al's SC/ASB. Have fun on the golf course.

PS: How do you like the MdC Lavende? I find it a bit too strong and "too pure" (if this makes sense)...I personally prefer their Limette and Vetyver.

    Tom,
What a beautiful journey this was indeed. Thank you for taking all of us along for the ride as well. I can't speak for the others (although I am certain they will all agree), but I really had a blast of a time on your vacation my friend. Thank you for sharing a bit of your time with us every day.

PS: looking forward to your shave this PM

Congratulations on a "scary" good buy. eShave is a wonderful creme for sure. Great shave

    1) This is my first Sunday straight shave! Just out of habit I continued to use my DE on Sundays. This was because of my fear, in the early learning days, of perhaps having to go to church with one of my ears hanging off!

    2) I found an interesting tip on the Internet (So it must be true!! ) of rubbing a couple of drops of GFT skin food onto the surface of the shaving soap prior to loading the brush. This not only softens the dry soap but the glycerin helps the lather.
    Oscar,
    (1) Congrats on shaving "out of the box" my friend. I bet your pastor sees you in a whole new light too

    (2) That is a very interesting tip. My 2 cents: If it's the glycerin that helps the soap, then why not just add 2 drops of glycerin on top of soap? Should achieve the same results.

Post Week of June 5 SOTD - Sunday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush (Rudy Vey): 26mm w/ TGN Silvertip Grade A Badger (Kingwood Handle)
Razor: 15/16" Filarmonica "Doble Temple" #14, Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point
Strop: 45/65 laps (Neil Miller linen / SRD Premium IV leather)
Überlather: La Toja "Manantiales" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: La Toja Manantiales AS
    Cologne: La Toja Manantiales EdC
Results: After a long, fun and busy day yesterday (back to back birthday celebrations), I am ready for a relaxing Sunday and a luxurious shave to boot. This (almost) all Spanish affair shave fit the bill this morning. This custom RV brush whipped up one of nicest lathers I have come to appreciate out of my top 5 soaps - a bowl full of incredibly moist, thick, shiny and sticky rich bed of snowy white suds . Of course, such an incredible lather requires nothing but an equally matched razor to complement it. Hence the reason to reach for the Filarmonica (I refreshed her edge using my Y/G Escher stone). I was rewarded with a incredibly buttery smooth shave.

    ******************************

Have a INCREDIBLE Sunday gentlemen .

Robert you sure do have some fine looking razors, even though i'm a DE man, I have a nice looking razor in for full restoration with Neil Miller, as soon as she comes back, I will be posting a few photo's of the razor for the good people of the Straightrarorplace to run their rule over.

    Cheers Jamie.

Tried the Feather popular today with the included feather blade. It was not a good experience. The razor is very lite and not real aggressive, I found myself using pressure, and pressure doesn't agree with feather blades. Only managed 1 rough pass, and quickly switched to the Vision with a perma-sharp blade to save the day. Managed an acceptable shave in only 2 passes as going for a third pass would likely magnify the damage that already took place. Thankfully Tet-aTet ASB feels very soothing.

Have good shaves today , Gentlemen
