    Strop: Illinois 835
    Brush: FS fine Badger
    Soap: MWF
    Razor: Royal Invicta 6/8
    Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel
    Balm: Nivea Replenishing
    A/S: Wahl Bay Rum
I normally pull out a wedge to deal with a 3 day growth, but the Invicta has been sitting on my shelf stropped and ready to go for 3 days and I couldnt say no. It was up to the challenge, handled the thick stubble with no worries . I didnt go for the full 3 pass BBS tonight because I'm doing a test shave tomorrow night and if I do a good BBS tonight I wont have a long enough growth tomorrow to assess the edge I've just honed. You know what I mean?, do I over think these things?

I was so stoked to come home and get this razor cleaned up, dressed and ready to shave. The shave was amazing and the edge she took was the best I've put on a blade. All in all, I can just say WOW!

Thanks for all the great pics and posts gentlemen! I love this place!!!

Glad you had a great time mate, I'm totally jealous. Beautiful razor too.

I just read this terrible news. Mark was one of those characters who's posts here on SOTD I really looked forward too.
Such an awful thing to find out. My thoughts are with his family. I'll be using my grandfather's GEM tomorrow night as a tribute.
Thanks for letting us know Glenn.

I know exactly what you mean. I wouldn't call it over thinking, more like good planning That Invicta is 1 sweet looking razor

I was shocked when i heard about Mark. I bought 2 razors from him reciently. One is missing in USPS land. Today i used the Kobar i bought from him. Its sad to think he was the last one to use this razor. Mark will always be remembered. He had great taste in Razors and he will be missed!

    Razor:"Solgen" #75 French point, 5/8"
Results: A wonderfully close and smooth shave. This Solgen razor might be on the small side of the spectrum, but it sure shaves like the big boys
BIUUUUUU-TI-FUL shave Birnando. Those Solgens are truly special blades. Nice tributary shave to Mark

    GI,
Of all of your SOTDs, this one is my favorite. Great tribute to a lost friend.

    Rene,
Nice tribute...he loved that Kobar. I am glad she's in a great home now. Mark had sent it (and his Wester bros) me to be honed different methods. I guess I am trying to justify (in my head) that I had the honor of holding a favorite of his in my hands. I don't know...I guess it's a long winded way of saying I miss him.

    Merkur 34C-HD
    Gilletter 7 OClock blade
    New forest finest silvertip
Truefitt & Hill West Indian limes
    Alum
    L'Occitane Bavx balm + Propolis
    L'Occitane Bavx EDT

Weather very uninspiring here in Wales, two pass shave with minor clean up, West Indian limes and the New Forest brush sure do whip up some lather, more to the point, the shave was enjoyable and technically correct.
