Default Sun June 12th - Sat June 18th

    .
    Location: 36° 0'5"N - 115° 15' 21"W
    Razor: Puma 156
    Brush: Simpson Chubby II
    Soap: Geo F Trumper Rose
    Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
Skin Food: GFT Coral Skin Food
    EDT: Caroline Herrera
Summary: After Robert's red carpet entry of his new Puma last week I decided to grab the Puma 156 for my new SOTD. The GFT Rose was the perfect companion and the coral skin food the perfect soothing sealer. Excellent shave.
Can't wait to see the new SOTD's of the week. We should have Bill back amongst us hopefully before the end of the week. Enjoy the new week.

    Default Sunday morning

The sun is back!! After a week of rain, we have beautiful blue skies today!

    Pre-Shave: A quick shower
Brush: Plisson, Pur Blaireau Haute Montagne #16
Razor: Jose Montserrat Pou, Filarmonica Novodur #13, black Scales
Honing Regimen: Chosera 1K, Shoubudani Asagi with full Nagura progression. Finished on water only.
Strop: C-Mon Vel-Edge Cordovan Shell Vintage.
    Soap/Cream: L'Occitane Cade Shaving Cream
    Scuttle:Schwarzweisskeramik, Large White
    Astringent: Alum Osma
After shave Balm: L'Occitane Cade After-Shave Balm
    EdT: Paco Rabanne, 1 Million.
Results: The third of my new batch of Filarmonica's. Like the last two days razors, this Novodur #13 delivered the goods. I decided on a Japanese honing on this. I think it turned out great. Super smooth, I mean really super smooth. Not a whisker in sight.

Today's shave was the one I enjoy most all week. The lazy Sunday morning shave. Kids still sleeping, wife enjoying the breakfast I picked up for her and the house quiet.

    Warm Shower
    Warm Oil
    Dirty Bird Scuttle
    Custom Badger Brush
    Cade by L'occitane Shave Cream
Carl Monkhouse, 5/8, Full hollow, restored and honed by Max
    AOS Aluminum
    Pinaud Bay Rum
    Vaseline for men.

I really love the look and feel of this razor. As can be expected, since it was honed by Max, the shave is wonderful. The aroma of the Cade also was perfect for this morning.

    Enjoy the day.

    Brush: Frank's Shaving Fine Badger
    Soap: Tabac
    Razor: Simmon's Barbers Pet 5/8
    Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel
    Balm: Van Heusen
The Barber's Pet has just come back into the rotation after some time in the workshop and a hone.
The blade/scale balance has never quite been right with this one. I'm thinking about parting with it, so I felt it should be corrected, so the holes in the scales were introduced as a solution, the balance is much better and I think they look pretty cool too.
Result: I only managed 1 pass before being interupted by missbehaving kids, but it was a damn fine pass. I'm happy.
should have known better than to try shaving before the kids were in bed.
    Have a great week gentleman
