Uberlather:Castle Forbes Cederwood and Sandalwood/TOBS Sandalwood cream/Shave oil
Brush:Franks Silvertip
Razor:Friodur 5/8 #70 1/2
Strop:SRD IV 20/60 passes
ASB:TOBS Sandalwood
AS:Play/Play EDC
Result:What a nice end to the week! 3 pass shave WTG/XTG/ATG. I did the last pass just for fun as it just glided accross with no stubble left. I just love the feeling of sliding the razor over skin and it feels like glass!(this one was honed by SRD and they did a fantastic job!!)
Have a great safe weekend all!!!!!!

Hi B.,
I am confused...I don't know what to be jealous of? Hardware or software? I think today, I choose to be jealous of this Buddel. Seriously gorgeous Damascus
Monrow,
I always said and will keep saying this: You look better unshaven than I do, LOOOOL
Tim,
$56 for a Goldedge?????? Where do you guys find such bargains? Nice score. She looks amazing too. Congratulations. May she give you 1000s of awesome shaves well into the future.
Smell is a funny thing. We take it for granted for sure. The last time I was knocked out by the flu, I lost total sense of smell. Even Cyril Salter French Vetiver or Indian Sandalwood (which are pretty potent smellers) had absolutely no effect. Hope you get your sense back soon.
Welcome to SOTD Easyace. Nice TI for sure. How's the scent of that EdC?
Congratulations on both fronts Rene. I was sure that la Toja was lost forever. I love that Manaslu (older, I think that the newer ones we show here).
Can't quote the picture (too much space)...But, I can say I love it. Size really does not matter. Well done Teiste
Ahhhhh Nic,
What a nice shave with this gorgeous beauty. Save me some brandy too, LOL. Enjoy
Julian,
I am afraid so buddy (sorry)...I may even go without one tomorrow. Just by skipping one day, my whiskers are having such a party, they look like 4 days growth (literally), but my skin feels fabulous (and ripe) for the next shave. I'll have to decide what I want to shave with.
LOOOOOOOL. No freeze...Just heat in this neck of the woods.
What are you waiting for? Just jump in brother. The more the merrier
Wonderful shave Julian. I always enjoy yours...You manage to keep things simple and to the point.
Nice Engel-icious shave Frank
Paul,
And what a wonderful finish indeed. I love that Friodur. All of SRD razors are honed by the Man himself. it's bound to have an awesome edge.
Wonderful SOTDs guys

Robert,
I had surgery to remove the polyps back in March and man it's good to smell/taste again. Sometimes the sense goes in and out, but I'll gladly take what I can get!
I'm now thoroughly addicted to "smells." I can't get enough of all these shaving soaps/cremes, aftershaves, colognes, etc. For the first 39 yrs of my life I didn't care at all for that kind of stuff. Now I have a drawer full of 'em!
I've marked down the ones you said were particularly strong. If any others come to mind you guys let me know. Hopefully I won't smell too strong for the wife, but she isn't complaining yet :)
I was surprised to pick up the goldenedge for so little. I had a much higher max bid but that's where it ended up. I got lucky with the Hans razor as well. Someday maybe I'll be able to spring for one of Max's but not today. Mostly I deal with the antiques. I like the history behind them (when I can find it) as well.
Anyway, thanks for all the help and advice and the creative outlet (photos). I'm loving being a part of this.

Tim, happy to hear that your sense of smell has returned for the most part after the surgery.
BTW...That Pearlduck of yours is a real winner. Congrats!
I see that you are way ahead of the rest of us eTom. That shaving kit of yours insures that you are already enjoying a nice day.
With that setup--Omega Boar, MWF and Rogers wedge--I'll bet that a smooth morning shave was never in doubt.
That is a truly beautiful RW Birnando. I'll have to put one of those on my Xmas wish list.
And a very, very nice shaving ensemble too. How is the Code?

Have a nice Saturday everyone!
Another NO SHAVE day for me (Sorry Julian)
Tim,
I can probably speak for all of us in saying that we thoroughly enjoy and appreciate your participation in this forum. I, for one, love seeing your posts and SOTDs.
I am infinitely happy to learn that the surgery restored some (if not all) of the olfactory sense. It is an important one to enjoy this sport that we are so deeply immersed in.
Both this Goldedge and the Hans of yours are extremely fabulous scores that will make most of us here envious (in a good way, not as a sin, LOL). Don't worry, I can already see a Maxtom in your future and when you are ready, Max will give you the red carpet treatment.
As for other scents that you may enjoy:
Cyril Salter's Wild Rose is Wild
SRD Bulgarian Rose (they don't sell it anymore though)
Martin de Candre
Pre de Provence
L'Occitane "Cade"
Tabac...either you love it or hate it (it's one of those). I happen to love it.
I also like Ja Toja's scent a lot
Mama Bear's "Ye Olde Barbershoppe"
I am probably forgetting a few others
Nice combination Tom. I love the Bow
Sten,
Your SOTDs are getting more and more creative my friend. Fantastic job my friend. Love the hardware/software used today
Maestro,
It's who who should be thanked for teasing us with all your beautiful collection (whether it's brushes or razors). So: THANK YOU
Also, your should count your blessings that I don't live near you...Otherwise, I'd be raiding your house everyday, LOOOOOOL. Beautiful RW buddy
Hey Mikael,
What a beautiful brush and Klas. Even though I haven;t had the pleasure of having a NM restores, I am beginning to appreciate the workmanship. Greta job my friend
Grant,
Sorry to hear it mate. Do you have a backup? I don't know if I can last too long without pictures from you. I didn't realize how addicted I have become to everyone's pictures
Welcome back Monroe...beautiful WM for sure. How's the Mojito? as intoxicating as the drink, LOL?
Rune? is this you? It's soooooo great seeing you around here brother. Welcome to the fold. You made my day. Great gear
As always: Job well done gentlemen

Nice simple three pass shave for a Sat. Have a wonderful weekend all!!
Prep:Hot Shower, Coconut & Lime pre-shave oil
Scuttle:Dirty Bird Custom Double
Brush:TGN 24mm Silvertip Custom in Crimson swirl
Strop:SRD PIV English Bridle Strop
Cream:Bodega Bomb
Razor: Incomplete Wade & Butcher Chopper
After shave: Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood
EDT: Cuba Red
http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6134/...6a952b82_z.jpg
Result:Today's shave was a test to see if I should continue my restoration efforts on this Wade & Butcher (I'll post the whole story in the restoration thread later). The spine was wavy, the metal was literally falling off at the edge (it used to measure 1”, now it's 9/10). I needed to be sure I could get a bevel & a shaveable edge with all of the problems I was seeing (the spine thickness varied by .035 inches at some points). I spent many hours doing gymnastics on the hones over the last week and I am pleased to report that today's shave was very, very nice. I'm not touching the blade anymore, just got to finish the scales and then pin her up.
Have a great Saturday Gentlemen!
Glenn
Thank you! Code is a very nice and competent AS and the scent lingers for a rather long time, for a AS. I like it, wife picked it out (she wants me to smell a little more, well, more high end :rofl2:)
Cheers Robert, but Neil should have the cred, he has a very ascetic sense of design that I like very much. Look at those scales and think of Japan, but they also have something else in them. I like it his work a lot and he´s also a master in restoring old scales (but more of that tomorrow :D).
No Rene,
I'll send him my DE (open comp) R41 by Muehle.
This machine is well prepared for such a job.
