Post Week of July 10 SOTD - Monday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: 24mm Thäter Silvertip Badger
    Razor: 6/8" H. Böker "Barber's Rattler", 1/4 Hollow Ground, Barber's Notch (w/ Abalone scales)
Strop: 45/60 laps (Torolf linen / SRD Premium IV leather)
Lather: Proraso Shave creme + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
    After Shave Splash: Proraso AS
    Cologne: Acca Kappa "Cedro" EdC
Results: Two for two so far this week. The Maxtom was a tough act to follow, but this Böker was no slacker. Last night, I took her edge a bit further with the Kiita/Asagi hybrid and in 2 passes, I was rewarded with a DFS, irritation free shave (need to leave some room for a special shave tomorrow. Fingers crossed!!).

    Have a PHENOMENAL Monday Gentlemen.

    Monday Morning
    Hot Shower
    AOS pre shave oil
    AOS best badger brush
    Queen Charlotte Cayman Cream
Rieder Co. Antique store razor I honed myself! 2 WTG passes
3rd pass with Merkur DE and Lord DE blade
    Ruprazor Filly strop
    Pinaud syptic, alum block
    Thayer's Aloe Witch Hazel
    Nivea Double Action Aftershave Balm
    Davidoff Coolwater Cologne

I picked up a couple of razors at the antique shop. I figured I would learn how to hone on these before unleashing myself on my Boker!
I must say, I didn't do too bad. I used a 1000 Norton Waterstone to set the bevel, then 4000/8000 Pyramid Technique. I then did 50 laps with the CrOx side and 50 laps on the leather side of my strop. Seemed pretty good. Shave was nice, especially the second pass. I do a little more every day. The razor I cleaned up is from Rieder Co. from Indiana. Stamped Solingen. Seems very nice and serviceable.

Happy Monday all! I'm off to work now. I sold my business and will be leaving at the end of the month. Weird to be wrapping things up.

    Default Monday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: Simpson Chubby 1 Best
    Razor: C.V. Heljestrand 6/8 Frameback
Honing Regimen: Naniwa 1K-La Grise Coticule
Strop: 30/60 Neil Miller Linnen/English Bridle
    Soap/Cream: Tabac Shaving Soap
    After shave: Tabac Aftershave Balm
Results: An overall good shave, but the Heljestrand is starting to tug a little on the XTG pass, good thing I am sending it away for some extreme honing tomorrow

I have a bottle of Naval Jelly, if you'd like to use it on your GD before your next shave.
