No shave for me today. Long day at work. Maybe an evening shave... sigh....

Prep: Hot Water Wash, Baby Oil Gel
    Razor: 1912 Gem (Stubby Handle)
    Brush: Semogue 2000
    Soap: Arko Shavestick
    AS: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Finish: British Sterling

First off, thanks Grant, your post yesterday reminded me it had been quite a while since my last 1912 shave. This one surely didn't disappoint. Indeed it was a timely reminder of why I feel in love with SE razors in the first place. If you've not tried a SE, do yourself a favor. They really are a straight razor on a stick.

Your welcome, now that I have some decent blades I can see the attraction. They really are great shavers.
I know very little about them though, is my one on page 18 post#174 what you call a 1912?

    Friday

    Rolls - Vulfix 2235 - GFT Sandalwood - Alum - Jovan Musk

My technique (getting the right angle) with the rolls has improved and I had the best shave I've had with one so far. Still not as sharp as my straights and I think the leather of the strop could do with being replaced but I have some leather coming to have a play about with that and a spare panel to attach it to.
    Regards
    Nic

today was a pity that I had finished shaving.(Unfortunately I have no more hair .)
This razor does not look great but he shaves so great, and is pleasantly heavy in the hand... i like that.

No worries! One question though, do you shave with same tecnique/hand/touch no matter what the razor? I´m interested to know! I only learned by my self and what I´ve read on the internet and I think I´ve got some issues, for sure, but it´s what I´ve carved out from my experience and this is how I mostly handle things:
    - Dull razor = I have to work harder (not more pressure, but be more active with the blade).
    - Extremly sharp/crispy razor = very light on hand (I allways are, but even more so then)
    - Wedges = more light on hand than with a normal full hollow ground razor (extra hollow is another thing and something to be treated almost the same as a wedge, for me).
-Different razors has different temperament aswell and I try to adapt to that too.
    - I´m still learning so I can allways change my mind
