Week of July 24 SOTD - Wednesday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 26mm Simpson "Chubby 2" Super Badger Maxterpiece: 7/8" Wade & Butcher Frameback, Wedge, Spike/Barber's Notch (w/ Black Horn scales) Strop: 35/65 (Neil Miller Linen / Ambrose Horse Hide Clásico leather) Überlather: RazoRock XXX Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Amber AS Cologne: Panhaligon's "Endymion" EdT Results: Another Maxterpiece day was in order. I decided to treat myself to this W&B, which hadn't seen much action lately. I used my new RazoRock XXX soft shave soap (this one is Glycerin-based) with this shave and like it's tallow-based cousin, the RR produced an absolutely fabulous lather. The W&B didn't have a single care in the world for the 24 hr growth and wacked through them like the Angel of Death. Super smooth to start this wonderful day.
I wish you an AMAZING Wednesday guys.

Life threw me a curve ball on Monday. When I returned from two weeks of Army Reserve schooling, I was promptly notified that due to the economy, I was being laid off effective that afternoon. ace incredibly well, and the Santal Noble is a fragrance you have to experience. I'm ready to take on the world!
LeagleBeagle,
It might not seem like it just now, but it's happened to me three times, each time it opened up new opportunities for me and I ended up better off in the long run. Good luck with your interviews.

Bill,
Oh my god buddy! Sorry to hear about the job loss. It sounds like you are really positive about these other prospects. That is the right attitude to have. I would not expect any less from you! Good luck...and great shave to put you in the right frame of mind.

Prep: Nivea face scrub in shower
Brush: Semogue LE 2010 #93
Cream: TOBS Lavender
Razor: Merkur 34C (Wilkenson Sword)
AS: Pinaud "Special Reserve"
ASB: Burt's Bees
EDT: Burt's Bees Natural
Superior shave this morning. I have a trouble spot on the right side of my neck just below my chin. The hair in that area always want to lay flat against my neck and are difficult to shave and will often become ingrown. Today was one of those "zero irritation" shaves that just felt like it all came together. Oddly enough because it certainly wasn't one of my favorite set-ups (not a favorite blade, lather isn't my favorite, and I've concluded that the Special Reserve from Pinaud just plain smells bad to my nose).
Gentlemen, you KNOW this is the way to shave when even a mediocre set-up provides a BBS shave.

Thanked: 34.
Razor: Thiers-Issard, Red Stamina 5/8 Brush: Colonel Ichabod Conk (Really need a new brush one of these days.) Soap: Tabac Astringent: Witch Hazel AS: Dominica Bay Rum Summary: I had taken a break from Straights as I was unable to get my razors sharp. Finally had some time to get to know my hone, and wala after some practice and studying I have 3 shave ready blades again. The shave was pure zen I got right into that zone I missed so dearly, and boy I forgot what that straight BBS felt like. Last edited by aircoder; 07-27-2011 at 06:52 PM.
