Thanked: 485Saturday
I refreshed the edge of the Burrell on the Norton 4/8 and Shapton 16k, 20 passes on the Norton (8k side only) and then 10 on the Shapton with just a tiny bit of slurry and 10 without slurry, very light. It shaved beautifully. I even did ATG on my jawline and neck; something I normally leave for the more forgiving W&B. I did the ATG with no pressure at all, and holding the razor really lightly; just two fingers. It went through no problems at all. I love the sound this razor makes as it shaves; sometimes you get that really wonderful high pitched sound, but normally it’s like buttering dry toast.
Razor: Burrell Top Flight Pre Shave: Proraso Soap/Cream Überlather: Proraso, Musgo real ASB: Proraso After Shave: None

Using my Eagle is really a pleasure now that I've got a way to examine the edge. I polished this guy until I was happy and it was one of the finer shaves this week. I've gotten such good shaves this week, that I only have had to shave once every 2 - 3 days. Not kidding. I'm really happy with the close shaves, but bummed because I really enjoy my shaves and no sense in shaving a face that doesn't need it. The combo Uber smelled FANTASTIC. I've got to try that again!
Happy Shaves Mates!!!!
Mike-- Any day I get out of bed, and the first thing out of my mouth is not a groan, that's going to be a good day --

Congrats on getting such wonderful shaves buddy. The Eagle is beautiful. However, I am sorry about having to wait to shave...that is a bummer
Well done EA...I had forgotten about the Pyramid approach

Congrats Rene on a beautiful Maxtom. I think this is by far the hollowest blade Max has made. Enjoy her in good health buddy
Woaaaaah. beautiful frameback Mikael...These Japanese blades (even the hollow ones) are a bit on a stiffer side. But awesome shavers nonetheless. Congrats buddy
Wowww Birnando,
This is a shave fit for kings buddy. Nicely done. Awesome gear
I know...tell me about it, LOOOOOL
Konstantinos,
Forget the shave my friend. Your daughter is absolutely gorgeous. She's going to be a heart breaker, LOL

Week of September 18 SOTD - Saturday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 26mm Saville Row 3326 Silvertip Badger Maxterpiece: 6/8" Wyeth "Trade Mark Warranted", 1/2 Hollow (stiff) Ground, Round Point (w/ Bone Linen Micarta scales + Black Paper Micarta wedge) Honing Regimen: Chosera 1k, 2k, 5k, 10k + Maruichi Nakayama Kiita/Asagi Hybrid JNat w/ Tomonagura slurry progression/dilution to water only + 5 (very light pressure) laps on CrOx on leather strop. Strop: 0/30/15 (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Horsehide leather / Imperial Cordovan leather) Überlather: RazoRock "Cacao" Shave Creme + Cella Crema da Barba Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS After Shave Balm: RazorRock AS Wax Cologne: Creed "Original Vetiver" EdT Results: A "later than usual" shave today. I received three birthday presents from Max yesterday and this Wyeth is one of them . I won her in "pristine condition" on eBay for little to nothing and sent her to Max who dressed her in beautiful bone linen micarta scales. She is a 1/2 hollow (stiff grind) blade. During honing, she felt and behaved more like a wedge than a hollow. It took a little longer than usual, but by the time I got done with her, she was popping hairs with reckless abandon. The exercise reminded me of my Helje 41 (tough steel that one). The RazoRock/Cella combination was super delicious with a wonderfully fragrant "cacao" scent and equally matching lather. I was CBS in 3 passes and loving it. Can't wait for tomorrow's shave.
Have a NICE & RELAXING Saturday gentlemen .
