    Sunday 10/30/11

    Geneva Cutlery Pyramid 7N 5/8
    Semogue 830
    Tcheon Fung Sing ss
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Lucky Tiger Face Tonic
    Musgo Real a/s balsam
    Creed Windsor Edt

A relaxing and and leisurely shave this morning. The newly acquired Tcheon Fung Sing soap performed marvelously with the Geneva to give me the kind of shave I used to think I could only achieve with a DE razor. As Mel Allen used to say, " How about that!" And today will be better than yesterday.

Post Week of October 30 SOTD - Sunday

    A pre-Halloween shave

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: 24mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger
Razor: 6/8" ERN #525, Full Hollow Ground, Round Point
Honing (Refresh) regimen: Chosera 1k, 2k, 5k, 10k, followed by Y/G Escher w/ slurry (30 laps with each progressive dilution ending with 60 laps on water only)
Strop: 0/0/0 laps (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Shave "Pegasus III" Horse hide leather / Cordovan leather)
Soapreme: CarrieM "Dragon's Blood" Shave Creme + Haslinger "Honey" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS
After Shave Balm: Al's "Spicy Orange" ASB
    Cologne: 1967 Guerlain Habit Rouge
Results: Bought this ERN in exquisite condition, from a member on B&B . A few laps around the Choseras last night really brought her edge back to life. Putting the finishing touches with the Escher was the icing on the cake. She was popping hairs with a vengeance and the shave was super smooth today. I loved the slick lather from the soapreme too .

Have a FRIGHTENINGLY good Sunday gentlemen.

    Location: Davenport, IA
    Razor: 飛車角 Hishakaku Wedge
    Brush: L'Occitane Travel Brush
Soap: Nancy Boy Replenish Shave Cream
    Astringent: Nancy Boy Facial Toner
    AS: Nancy Boy Soothing Gel
Result: This razor is rocketing up to the top of my list. A fat wedge, wide blade, short length, all business. This is our stop in Davenport, IA on our cross country move from New York to Las Vegas. We're stopping in 20 cities in as many days, filming and experiencing all each has to offer, and documenting it for a travel web series. If you're interested you can follow our progress on gowestblog.tumblr.com. If you're in one of the cities we're going to and want to meet up or show us around, please feel free to contact me, our itinerary is pretty flexible. Feliz Dias de los Muertes!

Default Pre- Halloween shave Sunday 10/30

    .

Locale: A place where shaves are NEVER hurried!
Music: Molly Hatchet - Molly Hatchet
Prep: Hot Shower / OBR Glycerine Soap / Fantastic Sam Conditioner
Razor: 1968 Gillette Adjustable w/ Shark Super Chromes
    Hones: Not needed today!
Brush: Custom 24mm Silvertip in Honey Locust / Lather Bowl #1
Post: Cold Water Splash - Alum
    Uber: RazoRock XXX
    AS: Lucky Tiger
    Edt: Stetson
Result: Today was my first shave with my new 1968 'N' Adjustable Safety razor. I was slightly amazed at the smoothness and speed with which a shave is accomplished with a Safety razor. I started on 1 and ended my ATG pass on 3. Smooth and irritation free. I had 20 minutes to shower, shave and get dressed. I made it no problem, even managed a 3 pass shave. XXX straight to the face and it was WONDERFUL! Happy Halloween shaves are great!!

What a crappy year for weather, Tons of snow in the begining of the year. Tornado, Huricane and now a Killer noreaster before Halloween.. So after snow removal and taking a drive and seeing all the damage. I was able to wipe it all away with an AWESOME shave. Wasnt sure what to use. I came across the F HERDER. Ahhhhh....... Now the hard decision. Which soap. Bayrum and Calypso. 2 Passes and im BBS. So what to do with the rest of the day. Well with us being in a state of emergency, Staying home. My sisters fam came over. They are out of power.

    Awesome job guys!

    Sunday

With all due apologies and thaanks to Edgar Allan Poe---a little Halloween levity

    Once upon a morning clearly
While I pondered weak and weary
I shaved my face with JM Schmid 6/8
Brushing face with Omega Boar, and lather made from Institut Karite
"'tis a good shave" I muttered, "rubbing my now clean visage"
    only this and nothing more.

Ah, distinctly I remember, it was a bleak October
After the coffee had been drunk
My face had been treated with Master Bay Rum
And I wore a cologne named Drakkar Noir,
Eagerly I wished the morrow, vainly I had sought to borrow
From my shaves surcease of sorrow- sorrow for the lost days of yore-
And I hoped my shaves would not end evermore...

    Default Spoooky Sunday Shave

Nice work today, Men! My daughter made this "face jug" at school. I was the only one who appreciated it! It is the last thing I see every nite as I turn out the lights! No nightmares, though! I call it "Beetlejuice"!
He supervised a fine shave with my old Hess 44 this morning and of course, I used the "Blood Orange!" Have a Great Week! Tom
