The Gillette Aristocrat is a purchase from Obie's rather splendiferous razor inventory, which he was thinning out a few weeks ago. It is fast becoming the favorite DE in my razor collection.

1 year of straight shaving!
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: Semogue 830 Razor: C.V. Heljestrand MK32 Strop: 40/60 Neil Miller Linen/English Bridle Soap/Cream: Cella Astrigent: Alum Block After shave: Mennen Skin Bracer Results: One year and a lot of razors have passed by since my first straight shave, and what a year! When I did my first shave I was prepared for a steep and long learning curve, but everything went surprisingly well, a lot better than I had expected. Thanks to all of you who have helped and given good advice on the road, making me able to celebrate one year of straight shaving with a wonderful BBS shave!!!

Prep: hot shower and lingering lather
Cream: Proraso
Razors: Dovo C-Mon Blackie & Geo. Wolstenholm & Son “The Conqueror”
Post: RazoRock Alum Thayer’s lemon Witch Hazel
Well the Conqueror didn't conquer much today. A quarter pass and it was obvious that the edge wasn't what it needed to be. Luckily the Blackie was up to the task.
Two plus passes... tried to mix it up a bit and went for a brief ATG pass grip, angle and commitment were all lacking so WTG and XTG will do as usual.
Had a bit of an issue with the lather as well... to much water... and then cream stuck to the bottom of my mug... but in the end it came together for a nice cushion and ample lather.
I have one issue and that is keeping what has become a rather manly (IMHO) handlebar stash outta the way when shaving... such are the trials and tribulations of my shave.
Great shaves Gents!
