you say this like there is any quality razor you don't have...

    Wednesday Morning

    Nivea face scrub
    Mitchell's Wool Fat/Musgo Real
    Merkur 34C w/ Lord Blade
    Aqua Velva
    Proraso Balm

Started out trying to get MWF to work for me. Another fail. Just can't get this stuff past a bubbly foam (as a result it's now for sale in the classifieds). After the first pass I switched to another lanolin based product in the Musgo Real and got a super close second pass with it. Fantastic finish to what started out as a mediocre (at best) shave. Love it when things work out

    Razor:Utica Cutlery Co. Helma 88
    Brush:Rooney pure badger
    Cream:Erasmic
    AS:Thayers Lavender and Avon Spicy
Result:Inspired by the thread on American natural stones for honing, I went for a little hike in the Flint Ridge area looking for some stones. Came away with two nice chunks of flint. Pictured is the smaller of the two weighing in at about 15 lbs. The other chunk is much larger at about 50 lbs. Once I find someone who can smoothly cut the flint I'll try it out to see how well it can be used to hone. The shave today was great. Love the way the Helma sounds when plowing through a few days growth. Sounds like shooting a metal sign with a .22, lol. Have a great day everybody.

    Yosh,
I am sorry MWF didn't stand to its promise for you. I guess it may be a water issue. In my hands, this soap performs wonders. One of the best things since sliced bread. At least, you salvaged the situation with Musgo

    Holy cow T.
I bet you can get a few chunks from the 50 lb-er one. I'd be curious to see who takes on the challenge of slicing this one...Not to mention shipping, LOOOOL. Keep us posted bro. You have peaked my interest for sure.
