Wow, that's extremly nice looking ivory scales and the blade looks prestine. Very nice razor!

Robert: Your new Neep looks fab, very cool handle indeed (and I love how those knots feel, as a matter of fact I'm taking one oout for todays shave )!

Carl: You sure can snap a shot! Man, you've got some nice photos on that site!

Don't you just hate it when everyone wants to be politically correct??? You tell the truth or say something someone doesn't want to hear they get "offended". Don't get me wrong, I am generally very polite, but sometimes too direct. YMMV.
Yes, quite. Exactly. I have decided the Emperor has no clothes, and the Emperor is most of bureaucratic, capitalistic, consumerist, selfish, rude, arrogant society. Thank you very much for the supportive comment.

On the other hand today was better, one of our students told us with a huge, genuine smile she liked maths now, but dreaded it previously. This student (around 50ish, clearly 'troubled') has an almost unfathomable number of white, fine, criss cross scars on her lower arms due to self harm. But she was genuinely happy with her progress. There's not a great many things that can be more fulfilling than teaching, surely? Times like that make you wake up to yourself, slap yourself around and smell the roses.

Which leads me to my SOTD. I hope it's OK to lead into it from a reply...

    Wednesday

Wake up and smell the roses day. Nice pre-shave; Proraso, Nice lather; Truefitt and Hill Trafalgar, Nice shave; Burrell, Nice Witch Hazel Lotion; Herb valley, Nice Aftershave Lotion; Truefitt and Hill Trafalgar, Interesting late Spring weather; COOL thunder and lightning last night, chilly morning, hot afternoon, Count Your Blessing Day; because the roses still smell nice, and unless you stop and smell them, you won't know that...

PS, I'm spending WAY too much time creating these SOTD posts. This one took three beers and around an hour and a half!

Yeah, I thought that too. In fact it prompted me into thinking about collecting just white handled razors...

Thanks Mikael. Found it on ebay. It must have been part of a seven day set because it has a day of the week inscribed on the spine.

I found out later from my honemeister that the scales were ivory when I was getting it sharpened. You have a good eye for ivory!
