A disappointing shave today. I just picked up this Heljestrand (no model designation) and was very excited to try it out. I took it to the hones this weekend. It seemed like it was good to go. It shaved arm hair, it popped hairs above the skin, but the shave test was not good. After two+ passes, I walked out of the den BBS, but it should not have taken so much effort. This one is definitely going back to the stones - I'm hoping an extra layer or two of tape may put things right... But, at least I smell like heaven! He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

Me thinks I need to take this Landers, Frary & Clark to the stones before I use it again.

I was busy this weekend honing. I did 6 razors. This little beauty showed up on sat. I got it off the bay. Didnt expect for her to be like this. The picture from the seller was blury, didnt show the scales. All i could tell was the blade was not damaged. I lucked out.

You certainly did! The blade etching says it all!

Dovo 5/8" 'The Dovo Gentleman' Razor | Taylor's of Old Bond Street | Kent BLK~2
This was my first shave with this new beauty, and I was pleasantly surprised. The razor is lighter than most others, but balances well with the yew-wood scales. Fantastic little shaver; very nible and easy to maneuver. The photo doesn't do the blade etching any justice... this is quite a lovely blade.
