    Default Round 3

Hi team, great shaves so far! Can’t wait to see the rest of this week’s hardware!

Today's shave was a bit of an experiment - went straight from sealed package to shave with this gorgeous NOS Economy Supply Company 44-20 No. 800 'Manganese Steel' razor (excuse the poor picture). This thing was popping hairs above skin level on my arm so I thought I might as well see if the decades-old edge was up to scratch shave wise. Well - she didn't disappoint - have just finished a shave that I would rate 8/10 edge wise, a little harsh, but astonishingly good considering this razor was happily cloistered in its own little world unmolested by time for god knows how long till I showed up ;-). Might just run it over my Swaty for next time.

Razor: Economy Supply Company 44-20 No. 800 'Manganese Steel'
Brush: Thater 24mm Olive wood (c'mon SRP 2-band!!)
    Strop: SRD Premium I
    Soap: Proraso
    AST: Thayer's
    ASB: Nivea Sensitive

    Cheers!

    Mike,

Urinal cakes??? I've never heard Pinaud's Lilac Vegetal described quite like that. I think it is a holdover from the 19th century when it was quite popular as an aftershave because of its flowery fragrance.

I remember buying a bottle of it during the last century. It was used by my barber as a finish to haircuts and shaves. I found that I really didn't care for it. The fragrance was too sweet, too perfume-like, for my nose.

At any rate, if you want to dispose of it properly, I guess you could always put it up for sale in the SRP Classifieds. There are some members who find its fragrance appealing.

jhenry, hehehehe, I was literally chuckling heavily reading this. I had never heard it described before, ever!! I swear, cross my heart, it smelled like the urinal cakes they use at work, ROFL!!!! I am not a fan of it either way. Hehehhehe..

I may check out another option for it, one that still involves SRP!

I'd been growing my beard for quite some time, but I decided it would come off today.

A big job calls for a big razor, so I pulled out my 10/8 and took care of business. It was actually my first shave with her; only BKratchmer had previously had the honor.

I'm really impressed with the photo quality off my Droid, too.
