Sun December 11th - Sat December 17th
.
Location: 36° 0'5"N - 115° 15' 21"W Razor: Kama - Koch & Schäfer Brush: Thäter SRP 2011 2 band Soap: GFT Rose Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel EDT: Guerlain Habit Rouge Summary: I can't get enough of my SRP 2011 Thäter brush. What a pure luxury and joy to use. It's perfection in a brush. For me at least it is. Whips up a ton of lather no matter what I throw at it. Puts all my other brushes to shame. GFT Rose was today's choice. A freshly honed Kama razor that performed exquisitely. Nothing to complain. I walked out the bathroom with a big grin on my face and a BBS radiating face. Nearly halfway December. Gents, enjoy the last few weeks before we celebrate the new year.

Sunday
Good Morning,
prep: Shower
Strop: SRD Premium 1 leather 30,70
Brush: Kent Boar
Soap: Cella, Crema Sapone
Razor: Wacker, 6/8" Spanish Point Inox in TI Olive Wood Scales.
AS: Old Spice
Great Start to the week, I had a nice 3 pass shave this morning, smooth as you like.
I'm constantly impressed by this little brush, it feels good, produces masses of lather and inportantly it doesn't "hog" it.
Have a Great Week

Thanked: 485Sunday
Today I knew I had time to hone the Klas Törnblom before the week’s SOTD thread was opened so didn’t shave after showering as I normally do. It has proven difficult for me to get a really good edge on this razor; I wanted it good enough to do an acceptable ATG pass on my chin. This morning I did two of the ‘aggressive’ pyramids and one ‘normal’ pyramid, followed by 20 laps on the Shapton 16k. I used a marker pen for the first time and noted the heel on one side was a bit ‘off’.
After honing, I walked out of the bathroom without my shirt on to get my music player. My wife said “Carl, what ARE you doing?” I replied that I was shaving. She said “You listen to music while shaving? With your shirt off? How romantic”. The sarcasm was obvious. I told her to go away and be made love to...Will the 'She Who Must Be Obeyeds' of this world EVER understand?
The result of the shave was pretty good; not perfect but quite acceptable. Maybe I’ll do the same next weekend, with maybe two aggressive pyramids and two normal. I do aim at perfection. Oh, I also stropped (20/40) between passes, carrying out the advice I’d seen on the forum; of course I stropped (30/70) as per normal after honing.
Listening to French Internet radio right now at CHANTEURS.ORG - Hommage aux artistes disparus de la chanson francophone after watching a documentary on the French film maker Jacques Tati; just the thing for a Sunday afternoon, with the sun and the wine...Every time I see or hear something French I’m convinced my French heritage is ‘stronger’ than I thought (my Grandmother is French). It’s great being a ‘cross breed’, I can decide to be French, German or English as the mood takes me...
Have a great week everyone!

Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

The whiskermelter R41 eliminated everything this 6:10 am, Cella provided slick and moist lather, Floid and 444 woke me up with a fresh menthol blast, Clubman smells awesome as always... Ready for a working Sunday.

Thanked: 485I'll have to try a R41 one day (I have a R89). How does that razor holder work, does it fit under the bowl? Have you seen the new razor holder at the Mühle page? It looks pretty cool...

Carl,
some weeks ago I once again visited the Mühle-factory and saw this razor stand in original. It is very nice.
I told them it would be very cool to get such a razor stand for TWO razors.
That would be really cool...one razor stand for R41+ R89
We'll see, stay tuned.
