Evening gents, and the rest of our motley crew
, SWMBO called out again this evening leaving me with the boys (asleep) and the dogs(???)...so what's a guy to do...Hot shower, shave with a bit of Scotch in the shave den. Today was one of those days I really had no clue as to what blade to use, seamed to take forever but in the end the N. Shure Co. I got from Glen not too long ago won out.
Prep: Hot Shower + Proroaso Pre/Post
Cream: Trumpers Almond
Brush: Gold Dachs Kalidescope (sp???) Silver Tip
Scuttle: GTP
Razor: N. Shure Co. 5/8 dressed in acrylic scales with a fine yellow drizzle and yellow wedge
Post: Alum
AS: Booster Bay Rum
ASB: CO Bigelow Elixer Black
Results: Only my 2nd time with this blade since RAD has had the better of me the last 6-8 weeks or so. Great blade, great edge, great shave....nuff said

.Music: U2 - Joshua Tree Prep: Hot Shower / How towel soaks Razor: 8/8 WE Stenton & Son 'Again' Square Point in Micarta (I think) From Rene's stones to my face. Hones: 3" Big Daddy Felt/Chestnut 25/100 - no touchups for this baby. I got to test one of Rene's edges tonight. Nothing but felt and leather. Brush: 24mm Silvertip in American Ash Uber: RazoRock Cacao = Tried a scoop in the bowl. Scooped too much. I have lather that would last the week!! Strangley though it was thin and weak until after working it in for several minutes. AS: OBR Evening for me. SWMBO loves it as much as I do. Too bad it wears off so fast. Edc: OBR Sandalwood splash, then a Limes and Peppercorn spray. Result: 5th day in a row for a shave. I wanted to take a day or two off, but with these amazing razors awaiting my attention, I can't NOT shave. I have never shaved with a blade this large. I've only a couple of 7/8's in my rotation. This is by far the largest object I have ever tried to shave with. And the shave was .... Wait for it. ..... AMAZING!!!! I am not certain, but it very well may be the closest, smoothest shave I have ever accomplished. Maybe because I was so careful, watching my angles and pressure even more closely than ever due to the beasts size. Nothing but strop before this shave, and she was WAY beyond all expectations. I cannot thank Rene enough. Words fail. Just 'AMAZING'. 3 passes and I mean a REAL BBS shave. I think for the first time ever!
Happy Shaving!!!!
Mike

Weds, Dec 28
Brush: Vie-Long Horse
Soap/Creme: Kiss My Face Creme
Razor: Yuma
Blade: Astra SP
Pre: How towel
Post: Witch Hazel
Hair Groom: Gables creme-oil
Result: KMF hasn't been a favorite of mine, but it has a good reputation, so I decided to give it another try. I was more generous with product than I had been when I last tried it and used my vie-long horse, and it whipped up easily into mounds of creamy lather. I still give a slight edge to my soaps, but I can at least now see what other people mean when they talk about KMF. The Yuma continued to impress, as well. All in all a pretty good shave. I'm certainly glad to be home to my den. :>

Happy New Year to all members from me.
