SHAVING WITH A FAMOUS RAZOR
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 25mm Morris & Forndran, 2-band Blonde Badger (w/ Genuine Bone handle) Maxterpiece: 6/8" Wade & Butcher "Adamantine Edge", Wedge, Barber's Notch (w/ Grey Translucent scales + Faux ivory wedge) Honing (Refresh): 9 light laps on CrOx treated leather Strop: 5/55/60 laps (Torolf Linen / SRD Premium IV English Bridle leather / Ambrose Horsehide Clàsico leather) Soapreme: Art of Shaving "Lavender" Shave Creme + SRD "Lavender" Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS After Shave Balm: Al's "Lavender" ASB (light version) Cologne: Acca Kappa "Blue Lavender" EdT Results: Today's shave was with a Maxterpiece W&B, recently featured in the February issue of VRATED magazine (VRATED.COM) . Congratulations Max and I must say that it is an honor to own such a "Famous" piece of art . The shave was absolutely divine, especially when combined with mounds of the super delicious Lavender-scented überlather. Despite her heavy wedginess, this razor provided a super close and comfortable shave that rivals her hollower cousins. I am ready for a beautiful, family filled Sunday and some projects in preparation for a super busy work week.
Have a MAGNIFICENT week gentlemen . The pdf page from the magazine is attached for those interested.

Much more I like page 2 in VRATED!
...and page 84 and the following.
But the razor is also "sharp".
And congrats to Max, because this magazin reports about his artwork.Last edited by eTom; 01-22-2012 at 03:39 PM.

Wade & Butcher "Adamantine Edge", Wedge, Barber's Notch
It is my brother from a different mother... here are my two "Adamantine Edge" Tally Ho! by F. Fenney, wedge with barber's notch. The 7/8 no longer has the etching, but came with the nice box. The 13/16 still has its beautiful etchings. Nice blade, Robert!!

This is my first SOTD post ever! A very special shave so I had to share.
This shave was so special for several reasons (I'm going to do a write up on this tomorrow in another section of the forum). My Fiance bought be a custom from Max for Christmas this year. As if that gift wasn't already perfect - I also happen to live just down the road from Max. What does this mean? I got to actually visit Max in his workshop and watch my razor being built from start to finish. So not only was this special because this razor was a gift, it was special because I feel a lot more connection with this razor than any of my others because I remember when she was just a blank of steel. I think I now know what it's like to have a child.
Needless to say the shave was amazing. Just off the hones from Max's house (he finished it up just a few hours ago). Although, my ears are very afraid of this razor and it's wicked slant point.
