    Good afternoon all!

It's a week to my wedding day!
That being said I gave the wedding day shave a trial.

Used my ivory scaled Le grelot and decided it needed a touch up before next Sunday.

    Soap was lavender dr Harris
    With a best badger brush.

Srd roo strop and it was overall a great shave.

Quite the multi razor shave today! The Heljes got used for each cheek to confirm shave readyness, both passed.
Found this nice old Gillette going antique hunting with Rune today, what a fine DE it is, a very nice shaver.

I had heard that Novelty Cutlery Co made some fine razors and I finally snagged one that seemed to slip under the radar on the Bay. Recieved it yesterday and honed it up.WOW!!! What a fantastic shaver! Far and away the best American razor I've had the pleasure to shave with. Besides the way it shaves, I also felt a great connection with the past thanks to the name on the scales along with pictures of, I assume, him and his family. This razor definitely goes into the rotation and may have to be bumped up so that I can use it again sooner.Have a great week.

Post Week of February 12 SOTD - Sunday

Pre-Shave: Magnificently long, hot shower w/ Chagrin Valley Shampoo + Savon de Marseille bath soap (oh, what a feeling)
Brush: 26mm Simpson "Chubby 2", 2-band Super Badger
Maxterpiece: 9/8" Wade & Butcher "Magnum Bonum", Wedge, Barber's Botch (w/ Black paper Micarta scales + Red Jasper Stone wedge)
Honing (Refresh): Nakayama Maruka w/ Koma + Tomonagura slurry progression, followed by 70 laps on water alone.
Strop: 0/0/0 laps (Torolf Linen / SRD Premium IV English Bridle leather / Ambrose Horsehide Cląsico leather)
Soapreme: Cyril Salter "Indian Sandalwood" Shave Creme + Trumper's "Rose" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
    After Shave Skin Food:Trumper's "Sandalwood"
Results: What magnificent start to this Sunday. I woke up early to a wonderfully and invigorating hot shower (pampered myself for an extra 10 minutes). Skin was refreshed and ready for meeting lather and steel. The lather was a superb combination of Rose/Sandalwood scent and the razor choice for today was none other than one of my Maxterpieces, i.e., the Magnum Bonum. This wedgy beast is a marvelous blade, gentle as they come. She wiped 2 days worth of growth (which on my face is nothing pretty) with absolute ease. I opted for the Rose/Sandalwood combo scent for my post treatment as well. I love days like this. MAGNIFICENT, all the way through.

Have a TERRIFIC week gentlemen . Keep up the good shaves gents and I will try to poke my head in once in a while to say hello.

Basil; Congratulations on your upcoming wedding

Today's shave was looked forward to with great anticipation, but alas, satisfaction was not to be had.

Razor: Robeson's Best 7/8 full hollow, It kind of tugged last time I used it so I thought a little freshening an my Swaty was in order. Lathered her up and gave it about 6 laps then took it to the strop. It was sharp enough to split an atom when I tested it. However, after shaving the right side of my face, MAN did it burn. 3 passes and my face was pretty lit up. Left side I took it very carefully and only did 2 passes and it is not so bad. I think my pressure or angle must have been off on the right side. It got red and burned like the devil. Some Alum and Tend-Skin hopefully will cool it down some.

Lather: a touch of Cella, a touch of Speick and touch of Irisch Moos.
    AS: Old Spice After Shave
    EdT: Old Spice Cologne

I started fighting a Diverticulitis infection this weekend, I'm down to a clear liquid diet and I need some antibiotics but sadly have no money for drugs so I must fight it naturally. I think I have it almost under control! Wish me luck!

GREAT Gear and hello to all the new additions I have not greeted yet!

    All my best bro's!

    Thank you Mike,
I missed you guys too. It's great to be on this forum again and sure enough, no time to even scratch my head these days. Hence my sabbatical for some time.

Not sure what I am missing from the thread though. It shows up OK on my screen
