Just finished a great night shave. For me it's the most relaxing time of the day. House is quite and bathroom is mine to take my time in and enjoy a nice slow close shave. My setup this evening was my new Dovo Masters 6/8 blade, eShave brush, proraso shave creme, Lucky Tiger aster shave and Trumpers skin food. It' 11:12PM and time for lights out. Good night gentlemen.

Prep: Hot Shower / Very Hot Water Soak /Barbasol lather left on during shower Razor: 5/8 Cosmo Silver Steel, 5/8 Spike, 9/16 Spike Hones: King 1k, Norton 4/8k, 300 laps CNat 12k, 10 laps diamond paddle, 10 Laps CrOx Paddle, 100 Clean Felt, 300 Leather Brush: 24mm Silvertip Uber: RazoRock Cacao AS: Alum Block & Tend Skin & OBR Sandalwood Edc: OBR Result: Honed these razors last night. The Cosmo needed some more time on the Cnat. This was one phenomenal shave, as they all three had an amazing edge on them. I also worked on the 2 Spikes from my JaNorton month. They both got a good workout that month, and needed some more attention now that I've learned just a tad more. One thing about stepping up the diamond paddle is it makes the edge really sharp and a tad bit harsh. They were so sharp I had to be extra cautious while using them. The Cosmo now has an edge that is good to go for some time. I imagine that additional stropping as they get used will tame them down a bit, but I got the edge and the feel that I was after. Talk about no tug or pull. All 3 were downright scary to use, but sure left the face BBS, no doubt. A very fine shave to be sure, and the addition of the Tend Skin was a must. As someone above me said, shaving with your own edge is cool, no matter the results, but this time I got the result I was looking for!!
No Pic tonight!
Happy Shaving All!

Thanked: 485Wednesday
EXCELLENT shave with the Klas Törnblom this morning, even with a rather poor lather from the Arko shave stick. I did the face lathering thing. I feel I would have got a better result if I’d have lathered it in a bowl (after rubbing the brush on the stick) and maybe added a little glycerine.

Thanked: 485It's great when you get to be able to hone your own razors; very empowering...
Nice frameback...
Cool razors; you polished that Dubl Duck up really nicely. There was a point there my De Pews was going to re-join this world as a letter opener...
Happy Birthday! I found 45 to be one of those funny ages. Still young enough, but getting to the point of not being able to deny 'middle age'. In fact, now I think of it, every age after 15 than ends in a five is a bit iffy...Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

L'Occitane Verbena soap
Vintage Custom Kropp
Le Tuft Chubby 1.5 in Lignum Vitae
Vito's Coconut & Almond
Alum & Witch Hazel
L'Occitane Bavx Balm
Botanics Moisturiser
L'Occitane Bavx EDT.

First shave since i customized and honed this vintage Kropp, the blade was smooth as can be, gave her 30 light strokes across the paddle strop, and away she went, a two pass shave with minor clean up.

Thanked: 146Wednesday 3-7
Prep: Hot shower/ Proraso pre-post creme
Brush: Thater 4125-2
Scuttle: G5
Soap: Proraso SS/ Salter French Vetiver/ Glycerin Uber
Razor: #14 Henckels in Ivory scales
Post: Proraso AS/ Nivea Lotion
Result: My boy gave me a SRD Strop which I tried, it seems much to have a much harder surface, but gives a great finish. The velvet squegee effect! BBS in 3 passes and the combo of the Proraso/ Vetiver uber and the 60 deg. F. weather made this one to remember.
