    Thursday

    Gold Dollar 66
    Tabac Stick
    Vie Long Brush
    Alum
    Old Spice Whitewater

My test to see if the edge of this razor would hold up continues, after 5 shaves it still feels freshly honed.
    Regards

Prep: Hot Shower / Very Hot Water Soak /Shave Gel left on during shower / Extra Virgin Olive Oil Rub
Razor: 6/8 Robeson "Robeson's Best" fresh from the hones
Hones: King 800/1k, Norton 4/8k, 300 laps CNat 12k, 10 laps diamond paddle, 20 Laps CrOx Paddle, 100 Clean Felt, 200 Leather
Brush: 24mm Silvertip in Honey Locust Hardwood
Uber: Taylor of old Bond Street Eton College & a touch of Speick & a touch of Sir Irisch Moos shave creams
AS: Alum Block + Gillette Sensitive Skin
    Edc: Navy
Result: Honed this razor last night. I had worked on it prior with very poor results. Couldn't get a bevel set properly and I was very sad because this was one of my better shavers until I ruined it. Now I'm happy to report that I have it in tip top shape again and I got one of my best shaves ever off my own edge with it. Smooth as buttermilk. It doesn't look like much, but it is an incredible shaver and I'm very pleased to have it back in the rotation again. The TOBS Uber with the Creams never seems to fail me, and the Olive Oil rub makes the smoothness complete. I was BBS in 2 passes without any tug or irritation. What a relief after last weeks pains learning my stones. A little light reading and the afternoon is complete, now waiting for SWMBO to get home so I can cook her a wonderful Green Chili burrito dinner!!

Ok, I've been off this forum for around a year and a half. During that time I've been wet shaving with an EJ DE and a 'Body Shop' cheapy acrylic brush, due to a lack of time for a full straight shave. However, tonight I decided I wanted to have a straight shave, and so I dug all my kit out and gave my 2 shave-ready razors a good stropping. Two passes plus touch up were like riding a bike - perfect shave, no nicks or weepers (just as well, because I can't find my styptic anywhere), just the smoothest shave I've had in forever. I think I'm going to have to send all my stuff away for honing and do this more often, the results were certainly worth it.

Preshave: Hot shower, shampoo stubble to remove grease
Soap: uberlather made from Proraso SC and Omega SS
    Brush: Semogue 2015 silvertip
Razors: Dovo 6/8 WTG, and Harris Bros 559 wedge for ATG/touchups
AS: Aramis Classic splash and EdC

Good to be back doing this, I remember now why I loved it so much.

    Friday

Nice shave with the Burrell this morning. After several shaves with narrower razors it was nice to have one with a nice full hollow slightly wider blade than I normally use. However, it did cut me a little; this razor has always been extremely sharp! I added a little glycerine to the Fauldings ‘Shave’ cream to oomph it up a bit; it worked, but probably needed a little more to get it really nice.

    Razor: Burrell Top Flight
    Pre Shave: Proraso
    Shave Cream: Fauldings ‘Shave’
    After Shave: Floïd

    Botanics Face scrub wash
    Feather AC - SS
    Feather Pro Blade
    Simpsons Chubby 1
    Vito's Coconut & Almond
    Alum & Witch Hazel
    L'Occitane Bavx Balm
    Botanics Moisturiser SPF 15
L'Occitane Cedre L'Atlas Eau De Parfum.

    Jamie.

That was an amazing shave for a first pass shave, almost BBS from a first pass with minor touch up, the Feather razor is a fantastic shaver once you master the technique, it's so smooth I haven't used a DE for a few weeks, and I dont know if I will be going back anytime soon.

    Mk42 | Thäter Bulb | Cade | Cade | Xerjoff Richwood

What a luxurious shave! The Cade überlather whipped up so fluffy and moist. And the Heljestrand is truly a magnificent blade. It wiped away the stubble as if it had never been there. To top things off, the Xerjoff with its creamy genuine Mysore sandalwood base is simply divine! It's a great way to end a work week...
