Thanks, Joe. It is new. My first go with a non-folding western style straight. The first shave was a bit akward as I just didn't know how I wanted to grip it. Today was BBS in two passes...

Prep: quick shower + Proraso Pre & Post Cream - Aloe & Green Tea
Brush: Tweezerman
Razor: Geneva Cutlery Co. Henry's XXX 11/16
Stop: Böker Russian Leather Paddle Strop with red Dovo paste + clear leather on Dovo Juchten Paddle
Cream: Proraso Shaving Cream with Eucalyptus Oil and Menthol
Post: Proraso Pre & Post Cream - Aloe & Green Tea
Result: very nice

Haven't posted on SOTD for quite a while(laziness, not business
) but felt the need to share today. Picked up this Robeson for $5. Cleaned it up a bit and honed it, finishing on my new, vintage translucent Arkie. There's just something about New York steel honed on an Arkie. Incredibly sharp. Add in the Palmolive and this was one fantastic shave.

Blade: Astra SS
Pre: Proraso white pre/post
Post: Lilac Vegetal
Hair Groom: Gables Cream-oil
Result: A very gentle CCS, barely felt any sting at all with the veg. Just the shave I was aiming for.
