Had to share todays shave, this razor is one of those rare gems that just begs to be sharp and hones up with nought but the sight of the stones.
This William Rodgers 'Magbel' 6/8 (Made And Ground By English Labour) was a local find and still had remnants of the original heavy grease protecting it. I don't think it was ever honed, it took one of the narrowest bevels I've ever seen.
It was paired with TOBS Lavender, Proraso pre shave, Thayer's Original and a new Semogue boar brush (great brush!).
Away from my camera so please excuse the average pic (and the remaining marker on the blade - honed it just before the shave).
Have a great day guys!

W&B Wedge with Blue Camel Bone-EJ Sea Buckhorn soap/Penhaligans Endymion-DB 1.5-25MM Silvertip-Jahn Varvatos ASB and Cologne
3 passes, no survivors. Fantastic shave. This is about number 5 since I restored this razor and honed her up. No prob holding an edge for the "Soft Sheffield Steel" I hear about occasionally. And anything you ad Penhaligans to will be fantastic. The Varvatos ASB and cologne topped today off nicely.

Jamie,
Very very smooth shave, i'm thinking my two favourite razors are both 7/8, and it's size i really find comfortable in hand.

05-24-2012, 10:11 AM #98Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Le Tuft w Simpson 22 mm super knot
Razor: J A Hellberg, 1/4 grind
Soap: Provence Santé
AS: Blue Floid, Italian
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean
New blade, found this one in either never used or nearly ever used nick. I reads "Warranted Swedish Fabrication 5 years warranty" on the blade and I was dreaming about setting bevels on soft Sheffield wedges while I was honing this one (and that's the second razor in a short while that has been very stubborn)

Thanked: 146Thursday
Prep: Hot Shower/ Noxema
Brush: Thater 4125-2
Scuttle: G5
Soap: Proraso SS/ AOS SC unscented/ Glycerin Uber
Razor: Satinedge 6/8"
Post: Proraso AS/ Nivea Lotion unscented
Result: Honed the Satinedge and gave it a test shave, not quite there yet so it'll be back to the rock. Finished the last pass with yesterdays razor. Warm early summer days lend themselves to a Proraso shave, that menthol coolness is great! Spiked it up for a fantastic Uber lather and I'm ready for the day.

Have a Great Thursday Gents!
