It was Béla (Fonthunter) that inspired me, so we've both got him to thank, and of course also the Madame herself!
In which case my most heartfelt thanks to Bela!!

    Default Wednesday madness

    Todays shave:

    Wedgwood & Cornhill Wedge
Cella & Omega mixed. Talk about an explosion of lather!! Made about 10 times more than I could possibly use.
    Lucky Tiger
    Cuba Gold

I'm still loving this old, rough wedge. Ugly as hell, smooth as heaven. A great shaver. Oh, it's clean as a whistle and glows nicely, but shows all the scars from my first ever attempt at re-grinding a blade. It was in pretty bad shape when I started, and even if I got out all the pits, it left such horrible scarring that I couldn't sand them out if I had 100 years to do it in. That sure doesn't stop her from being a wonderful shaving razor. (thanks Tom!)

    Wednesday

Nice shave with the Wade and Butcher Special this AM. I decided on an Überlather this morning; and the cold weather called for Madam Scodioli ‘Step Right Up’ after shave and ‘Boheme’ soap, so the Über was with the Boheme soap, Faulding ‘Shave’ cream and some glycerine. I haven’t made an Über for ages, and it was a nice change. The Mme Scodioli ‘Step Right Up’ aftershave was really nice as usual. Really, if you haven’t tried this and you like an AS that FEELS incredible and has a lot oils in it, and a really interesting ‘bohemian’ scent, go for this. Probably better for cold weather than hot though…

Had the best but also the saddest day at work today. The prisoners gave me a farewell, as I’m moving from being the Education Coordinator at the Women’s prison to being the education Coordinator at a men’s prison. I was just temporary for a year at the women’s. They made a really nice lunch (they can cook in the Living Skills Unit) and a cake and a book with a whole bunch of comments in it; calling me ‘precious’ and saying how thankful they are that ‘I believed in them’. It all got a little bit like that old movie ‘Goodbye Mr Chips’. The only way it would have been better is if they stood on their desks and said ‘Captain My Captain’ (Dead Poets Society)…

I'm very selfish working in a prison in education; maybe I just do it so I can feel good about myself?

And if you've never had the DC 1913, this is why it's considered so good. After three passes, and over 25 minutes of sitting, I had this left from face lathering a single light swirl in the cream:

He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.
