    Default Late Saturday night shave

    Honing session full shave:

I dropped my kamisori today, so I wanted to get it back into shape. I had three tiny chips in the edge, but wow, did that take a while with careful honing to fix. All is well, now, though. I ended up using my King 1000, King 6000, AJ Dragon Tongue, and PHIG to bring it back in line (as many strokes as was needed to remove the chips on the 1K/6K (not really worrying about the ratio), then lots of sets of 7:1 on the DT and PHIG)

    Razor: Kanenaga kamisori
    Prep: hot water, Arko
    Brush: Vie Long horse
    Soap: Arko
    A/S: witch hazel
    Result: A great shave

    Prep: Hot shower
    Brush: Simpson Polo 8
Razor: Max Sprecher, extreme french point
Superlather: Nannys French Lavender + Mhule unscented cream (good combo)
AS: Floris Santal + Tiger facial tonic
    Strops: Neil Miller
    Result: Uberclean

Was going to mix the tiger with TOBS Victorian Lime, but took the wrong bottle (yes, I know TOBS VL is yellow, I was sleepy). It wasn't unpleasant though and Max razor is top of the line and an excellent shaver

A rare morning shave for me today, heading to Sweden to visit my brother in law and his wife and little baby girl.
A couple weeks ago I asked Bill for advice on a Vetiver soap and he sent me this Jabonman soap, thanks Bill! Although it was a bit more mandarine in the scent than I hoped for I really liked the scent, and the performance was very good as well, definitly a brand I'll look more into. Combined with the freshly honed Jackson I had a wonderful shave, topped up with some of Str8fencer's Florida Water.

    Have a great weekend guys!

The razor is a Spanish huge blade, Full Hollow, simmilar to well knowns filarmonica 14, but different company. Founded NOS in a cutlery, I couldn't resist to bring this beauty home. The poor storage conditions let the blade not as clean as a New Blade and the seller, with no experience with straights, close the blade badly (the scales were not centered) and give it a little nick :-( ... Minor problems for an specialist in restorations , but for me it was a challenge... Finally I repaired the scales, removed the nick and polished the blade, now I have a great razor with me.
Nice photo, thanks for posting. Would like to see more of the razor.

Another really nice photo. I think I saw that view a few weeks ago.

Pretty Bare Bones Saturday Morning Shave
    Prep: Hot Water Wash
Razor: 1960 Gillette Fatboy (set at 9)
    Cream: Barbasol
    AS: Clubman Bay Rum
Finish: Murray and Lanman's Florida Water
Results: Really good two pass shave. Seems like Barbasol is a cut above the rank and file "canned goo". It is rather traditional in the same sense as Clubman products. Don't get me wrong it isn't high end, boutique by any stretch but it does a decent job. Am I the only one using this stuff or just the only one willing to admit it?

No shave today, just a few pictures from the morning:
