Another very busy day, but I took the time to shave because I might have to slip into court for a quick status hearing on a case. Well, here is the kit for the day:
Toyo Special | Thäter Bulb (2-Band) | Panna Crema Casablanca | Lucido | Villoresi Piper Nigrum
He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

Thanked: 146Friday
Prep: Hot Shower/ Proraso pre-post creme
Brush: AOS pure Badger
Scuttle: G5
Soap: Cade
Razor: Fromm Redhead #50
Post: Witchazel splash, Proraso AS, Nivea Lotion
Result: Too many things on my plate today. Do not think about other things when trying to shave, the mind wanders and 'ouch' a nice little nick... Lather was too dry, cade is usually a top performer, after adding water it came back to life. Just an all around 'meh' shave. But it is still a shave with a straight! and I am BBS! and it is Friday!, so now I'll quit whining and go to work...

Today's shave was identical to yesterday's. 2 passes to DFS. So here is a similar photo
In unrelated news I recently received responses from my honing critique! The good news almost trumps the head cold I am battling!

Friday
Something about gunstocks!
Hot shower prep
Razor: 9/16ths Clauss
Soap: VDH
Mug: Coffee mug
Brush: Home made silvertip
Aftershock: Alum block
Splash: #4711
A very good shave for first time off the hones. This ebay cheapo was, after some clean-up, really a prince in disguise. VDH is my go-to after honing a razor, I can depend upon it to protect, if not smell pretty! Close shave and the alum didn't sting!! #4711 did its thing with aplomb!
The Clauss company was in Fremont Ohio, till this day. It was purchased by Henckles in 1919 and discontinued razors somewhat later.
I have become a fan of gunstock razors. They are light to flick around my face and the narrow scales at the pivot are nice for changing grip position easily. They balance nicely for honing with that very light blade and the low mass makes them a winner for a quick shave.
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!
