This is just one of those razors. I bought it a couple years back at a local antique store. I'd been keeping an eye on it for quite a while and when it became obvious it wasn't going anywhere for $35 I haggled them down to $17 and left with it in my hand. It started with a decent bevel and a fair edge but a few quick laps on the stone and it was scary sharp. It holds a great edge and when it starts to tug, a few quick laps on the stone and a good stropping puts it right back in the ball game. Great razor!

Prep: Quick touch up hone, warm shower

AS: Skin Bracer
Finish: La Toja Manantiales AdC
Results: First pass was just North/South. After a cold water rinse, I applied some Baby Oil Gel and touched up the usual spots (although there was certainly not much left)

I think I have the exact same model razor, but I broke the scales on mine trying to tighten the pins. I have to agree with you that it is a fantastic shaver!

Come to think of it, I really wanted to shave with this one today and realized that it is out on "loan" so I can get some help with my honing skills...I miss it already LOL.

I got the Invicta back from Bill. Wow, nice edge. Makes me realize how far I have to go with honing. Anyway. Great Shave! Suds were courtesy of MWF. Love this stuff.




*For prep today I put some Caswell-Massey pre shave oil on before showering. I left it in while taking care of my other business-washing hair, sudsing up. Then I did a Noxema/Shampoo concotion, left in. After the shower, I lathered up and did my stropping routine. Post stropping, I scrubbed the lather in with my fingers, relathering before shaving. Did I go over board? Maybe. Do I care? Nope.

Hot shower prep and shave
Razor: Schick Injector
Blade: Personna
Soap: Palmolive bar
Many passes and the last under spraying water gave a fairly close shave.

The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker! When i am fully aware!

I've been thinking about fixed blade razors all day, and as a result I've been looking forward to getting home & pulling out my one and only custom razor.
This razor was a gift from Bob Allman back in 2010. It really is a beautiful thing, and a pleasure to shave with.
After a long, hot day at work I needed something refreshing. The menthol products worked wonders.
3 passes later, I'm BBS and feeling cool

I find it really comfortable actually. I do have a couple of fixed blade razors though and they do take a couple of shaves to get the hang of them.
