Another outstanding shave from this razor. And the bay rum is a nice festive scent.Last edited by mparker762; 12-13-2006 at 03:19 PM. Reason: s/9/8/

Wed.
Muhle silver tip
TGQ Lavender cream
Ontario 5/8 1/2 hollow SP
Coral Skin Food
Mama Bear's Vetiver
Great, great shave. Colleen's creams are excellent. Razor is an ugly duckling, but shaves like nobody's business. Set the tone for a good day.

Griffon 5/8 full hollow spike
Rooney #1 Large Silvertip
European Palmolive
Alum
Pitralon Classic
QED ASC
As I was shaving today, I realized the following three things:
1) I like the Rooney much more than I thought I would like a 26mm knot brush - especially with creams
2) the European Palmolive is just ok (for me) despite the high praise it gets - with the exception of the Proraso, most of the drugstore creams don't do it for me (Florena, Nivea, Vergulde Hand, Arko, etc...) not bad, just not as good as the other stuff out there
3) The full hollow 5/8 razors just don't cut it for me - no matter how sharp I get them (and I admit that may be part of the problem), they just stall out on the against the grain pass when I get to the very heavy stuff under the chin - since my 6/8 razors manage to get through this ok, I assume my razors are at least decently sharp
LX - I got the Verguled Hand ASB in a drugstore/perfume shop off of the Dam when I was in Amsterdam on business this summer. This is good, reasonably priced stuff that is good when you want a slightly heavier balm.

Well Rich, what did you think of Sue's new cream? I really liked it. I'm not a big fan of the rose scent, but it sure smells like your nose is in a flower shop when you're lathered up with that stuff! I used it 3 days in a row and shaved with both straights and a DE just to give it the full test and it was nice.

I have a small mole under my ear. Its never been a problem, but today I caught it good with the spike. Thought I had it staunched, but then felt a nice warm flow down my neck while eating breakfast 20 minutes later. Lovely.
