    Shavemac 501
    Tabac soap
    6/8 Revisor
    Alum block
    Tabac A/S splash

First time out with Tabac soap & A/S, and a new Revisor. I'm very pleased with all of them but my skin seems a bit dry after all is finished compared to a shave with my usual Mamabear soaps. Don't know yet if it's a fluke or a difference in the soaps but the Tabac lather is about as good as it gets.

Yep - Tabac lather is fab. Too bad my skin does not take it very well every time (some times it irritates a bit from the start, other times it's all good).

Maybe your skin is a bit dry because of the A/S - I don't have it but think it does contain alcohol. But I have to say I hear people talking that Tabac soap is not as moisturizing as others... still a top top soap for me

    Cheers

Funny this should come up today as I used my Tabac soap and A/S and noticed the same thing.

I really like the Tabac soap, but for some reason use it infrequently - I'm amazed that a soap that smells this strong doesn't irritate my skin more.

I really like the A/S, but it does have a drying effect and it certainly contains alcohol. The A/S has a very pronounced scent and lingers almost all day on me - especially when teamed with the soap.

I use a balm and/or moisturizer after the splash - there's only one or two soaps or creams that have enough moisturizing properties that I wouldn't feel the need to use a balm or moisturizer.

6/8 Fritz Bracht Dovo SS (actually somewher between a 5/8 and 6/8).
    Rooney #1 large silvertip
    Tabac soap
    Alum
    Tabac A/S splash
    Neutrogena post-shave defence ASB

Great first shave with this razor - just got it from Joe and it came sharp as can be and is a good shaver.

I'm not sure how this compares to the current production Dovo SS razors, but they're supposed to be good shavers as well.

I do notice a difference between my SS and carbon razors - both materials shave well, but they have a slightly different feel.

    Shower, Lush Coalface face soap.

    Kent 50/50 brush
    TAGMSC shave soap
5/8 Krauss razor with Purplewood scales
    Hot water, Cold water
    TAGMSC aftershave balm

Not a terrible shave but not grea either. This shave proves to me that I CAN indeed shave two days in a row without messing my skin up badly but it feels a lot better when I let my face rest a day in between. Ah well, you live and learn.

    Fri

    Vulfix BB
    TM strop
    TGQ Lemon Tea Verbena soap
    Sun Ray prep 6/8 sp
    Proraso a/s balm
    Royall Bay Rhum

Terrible shave. I put too much water in my lather. I overslept so I had to rush through my shave to make a meeting. I get to the office....meeting canceled. At least its Friday.

    Shavemac 501
    Mamabear Masculine Musk soap
    6/8 Birko Reg worked back
    Alum block
    Tabac A/S splash

Wondering about yesterday's dry skin after using Tabac soap and A/S, I used my best soap today with that A/S and don't have the dryness. I'll try the Tabac soap with a different alcohol based A/S next time and see what happens.

This was my first shave with this razor, a new one I bought a month or two ago and just recently honed up. It's a very pretty looking blade with the worked back and ground very thin. Some (most?) worked backs have a tendency to abrade the strops a bit but this one doesn't do that at all. VERY nice easy shave with it and good results even on the neck on one day's growth - this one goes into the regular rotation jar with the best razors.

    Default W&b

I was going to shave-test the Edelweiss again but the customer, being an advanced user, preferred getting the razor sooner to extended shave-testing so I got the opportunity to shave-test the W&B
This was the first time I had the opportunity to shave with a 6+/8 wedge and it just powered through the stubble with no feedback. It was freaky and I'm not sure whether I like or dislike the feeling but I love the results. Perfectly clean face. Ofcourse, for this blade I just had to use Cavendish black
Additional note: I also tried Neutrogena Razor Defense lotion. That stuff ROCKS. Left my skin nice and soft without an oily finish, the smell is mild but goes well with my Axe Voodoo deodorant. Contains aloe and witch hazel.

    5/8 Dovo Swedish Steel
    Savile Row 208
    Trumper Coconut
    Mama Bear After Shave Milk

Nice smooth shave today. Its great shaving with a razor that I honed myself (or at least honed after dinging the edge against a sink ).
